  1. The 1070 will use a little less power, which long-term will add up. i have a 980ti, and it's a great card. but no point buying the older card for the same ish money!
  2. or wait until the coffee lake stuff is actually available and the kaby lake might be on sale/clearance?
  3. I hope not, I desperately need to upgrade, i gott a replace this faulty 2500k system, but need to know whether to go 6+6(8700k), 4+4(7700k) or 6 (8600k) cores depending on pricing when launch. and no, I'm not interested in Ryzen, I tried a 1600x and Strix B350, and couldn't get the thing stable, constantly crashing. Black screen.. couldn't even monitor temps without crashing!
  4. I just hope they don't make a mess of it like the Enthusiast stuff!
  5. https://www.eteknix.com/intel-coffee-lake-cpus-wont-arrive-september-16/
  6. In theory. But they have not committed to a release date, so anything could happen, And coming out in fall doesn't mean able to buy tho. I wonder what the new chipset/features might have.
  7. With Coffee lake so close. It would be foolish to give Intel so much money for a current cpu
  8. Completly clean win 10 up to date ISO. CPUz, HWmonitor & HWinfo... installed on a M.2 drive
  9. On the B350 Strix, the most recent bios (0809) was so bad it was a joke. with cpu full auto, and the 3200 ram running at 2133, would get to windows, and without opening anything it would crash within 2 minutes.
  10. Yup. i tried the 5 most recent bios on both boards. Asus B350F Strix & Asus Prime X370 Pro. neither board 'cheap' Bloody annoying
  11. Me too, I really wanted the Ryzen experience to be good. but I just fell unlucky. and even if I eventually got it running. I have already lost faith and would always regret my decision. so I'm sticking to Intel! and this time going straight for the I7, should stay relevant for a good while that way.
  12. couldn't run any monitoring software. if i did, even without anything running the system would instantly lock, black screen, need to turn psu off to reset... case buttons unresponsive. tried various parts. sent em all back... The only part i couldn't be arsed swapping out was the Corsair 3200MHz led ram. but tested with each stick individually. but when it worked, the performance was a BIG step up from my system. and going back to this feels crap! cant wait for the new stuff.
  13. I am in this dilemma currently, my aging 2500k system has mobo issues, I just tried to build with Ryzen 5 1600 & 1600x, with 2 different mobo's. and couldn't get it stable. so I ordered the 7700k. and canceled it 12 hours later. gonna wait for 8700k. more future proof. I'm told it is in about a month. But how long after launch until good mobo's and supply??? no idea. I have had this system for over 5 years, hope the next do the same. no point settling for only 4 cores when 6 is just around the corner!
