  1. I'm going to run repair from the Windows tool and see if that works. It's not a problem just a nuisance.
  2. I have absolutely no idea. I can still boot into Windows from both drives thankfully but that doesn't make any sense at all.
  3. OK so as it now turns out both my original boot drive and SSD now display this message.
  4. So I recently just got my first SSD which is a Corsair Force LS 480. I had it formatted and partitioned for the total drive size and used Macrium to close my 80gb boot drive to it after cloning my drive I rebooted with just the SSD and my non boot HDD plugged in. Now I get the no operating system detected screen and when I hit any key to restart it boots into Windows like normal. I have full access to the SSD and it's files and never had this issue before with my old boot drive. Where did I go wrong?
  5. I wasn't even able to get that far. I'm in the process of downloading Windows 10 from the website. If this doesn't work Ubuntu it is.
  6. So here is the background. I upgraded my system to a 6700k, Z170-A and 2x8 of G Skill DDR4. I got into Windows 7 on first boot and tried installing drivers then lost USB connectivity. Spent all day trying to find the problem only to find out that Skylake doesn't support W7. I wiped and formatted the HDD to NTFS then tried to install W10 and got the 0x8007025D. I've been using Rufus to install because I've had good luck with it before but now I'm completely stumped. I don't have an optical drive so my only options are to do it through USB. Anyone else have any insight?
  7. So as it turns out after a bit of research unless you follow an extensive and annoying route of slip streaming the old usb drivers into the Windows 7 install you pretty much can't do it. You're basically SOL if you want Skylake and W7. I've had to upgrade to W10 unfortunately.
  8. I downloaded the drivers straight from the product page. Everything works fine up until I get into Windows. And even in safe mode it is still not letting me use the mouse. If it helps any I plugged in a P/S2 mouse and it still didn't work but the P/S2 keyboard does.
  9. So I just upgraded from an AMD 8320 to an 1151 i7 with the Z170-A bored. I attempted to install the drivers for the USB devices through ASUS bit after the USB 3.0 driver install all my USB devices stopped working on Windows. I am using Windows 7 64 bit. I still have the ability to use these devices in BIOS but not on the windows screen. I contacted ASUS. They said reset the CMOS and hung up. Any ideas?
  10. Yes but I am also a Samsung Fanboy and I like the minimalist look. A big drop in price also comes from the GPU which doesn't match my system at all. As far as specs go the the MSI isn't much better at a better price but the Gigabyte card is still quite comparable and that won't be upgraded just yet. I would rather have the i5 for the time being up until I decide I actually need an i7. As of right now what I do I don't even need this but I want to be set for the next few years.
  11. This is my current build. I have already purchased the case. I will look into that RAM. I have just never heard of that company and am a little wary of new companies. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RJHzRB
  12. I got the case because that is what I fell in love with and the PSU I bought the same day because I got a deal with it. I am not currently in budget for an i7 which is why I am going with an i5 for now. I was given about a month's notice and 300$ to build this. Everything else is out of pocket.
