  2. pls no kill Life is Strange: Before the Storm is a game, not an experience. It might be the slightly different controls, less refined art style, protagonist, or just the overarching story, but it doesn't feel quite as grounded and 'real' as the original LiS. The engine switch from Unreal Engine to Unity hasn't improved much, if anything, and the whole world feels more empty, with less detail in areas already visited. However, it's not a bad game. Chloe's awkward nervousness is highly relatable, and feels extremely convincing. It's just strange how Rachel suddenly takes an interest in a complete nobody after 1 Firewalk concert. idk, perhaps it's just me, but the whole story feels more poorly planned out and executed than the original, and didn't have the same emotional impact the first did. To put this into perspective, the first episode of the original LiS establishes the place, the powers, and the characters, with little to no emotional moments. The first episode of BtS feels as if it's pandering to the fanbase a bit too much, and ends up clumsily switching from emotional moment to normal gameplay again and again. It just feels a bit too 'fake' and staged. Yes, I am aware that it's a game, but the first game managed to disguise that fact so cleverly that you really felt like Arcadia Bay was real. The nightmare sequences were also a bit of a letdown, as they feel too ambiguous to be of any use, and only after perusing r/lifeisstrange did I truly grasp the true meaning. It's a game, not an experience, and the story most definitely contributes to that feeling. However, Chloe's inner monologue is just as, if not more entertaining than that of Max, and the D&D game was an amazing bonus. All in all, it feels more like a fanfiction than a true LiS game. With that said, I still eagerly await the next 2 episodes to see where Deck 9 takes this.
  3. yes it's direct wired to the battery pads
  4. v 2.0 @Hackentosher (sorry for the poor photo, it's quite dark in my room) Taking your suggestion, I swapped out my ESC wire for some awg 12, as well as swapping my PDB for a slightly more expensive Matek one with solder pads for a battery, and a ton of other features. Everything works, and I'm stoked to fly tomorrow!

  7. japan would be neat, with a bit of South Korea
  8. do you have the parts yet? because if not, I'd highly recommend a Threadripper 1920x or 1950x over the 6950x, as both have more cores and are around the same price. Plus, 64 PCIe lanes.

  10. well, the Destiny 2 Beta was actually a ton of fun

never could get into the original because of the god-awful framerate and controls, not to mention the empty void of a story

    but Destiny 2 is fun

    quite

Dang it. Steam is down. What to do now...?

play the destiny 2 pc beta
  12. whichever is less expensive where you are with GPU pricing currently, the market is a very strange place
  13. what are you doing with your PC? I purchased 32 for mine just for absolute overkill, but it actually ends up utilized with particle simulations in after effects, and RAM caching for playback. But for just games, 8 is perfectly sufficient. However, 16 is much better, as you're able to keep so many background apps open while gaming, which is fantastic when you alt-tab out to look something up, and nothing slows down.
  14. I am a fool, truly.

I didn't read the instructions for my VTX, and thought it was dead as a result. Turns out that I didn't hold the button long enough.

well i have setteled on getting a Heatkiller IV…

  16. they have a virtually identical I/O setup, but the AsRock board swaps onboard video output (which won't work with a 1700 anyway) with inbuild wifi, if that's important to you. Other than the I/O, they're pretty much identical, with the AsRock board supporting two m.2 drives, while the Prime only supports 1. iirc, the onboard audio solution is slightly better on the AsRock board as well. it really comes down to personal preference, and whichever costs less wherever you are.
