check adapter properties in windows. it will tell you the panels hz. some panels allow a bit of OC. so 60Hz to 75Hz. but make sure, grab your model number and google.

I mean, "tolerate" makes it sound like GoG has a lot of issues / is mostly disliked by the community.
I think its the opposite. at least for me, the only reason I don't use it as much as steam is the library. literally.
I like GoG more than Steam. they really emphasize consumers as priority. although, because they are so anti-DRM we don't get AAA games like steam on there.
I'm ok with it tbh. I purchased TW3 from their store, would of purchased TW2 if it hadn't been a gift (steam-key)

Google only knows so much because you choose to let it know.  Same with Facebook.
Google and Facebook are services, they can easily be avoided and you can block their cookies.  With a dynamic IP you can also prevent them from using your IP to gather info on their end too.
Your OS on the other hand can't be avoided.  Well, technically it can, you can always switch to Linux.  But still.

As for Vulkan, seeing as it'll work on all platforms it's a more logical choice than DirectX12.  Game devs probably won't switch from DirectX to Vulkan to please the Linux users, but the OSX users are a large enough demographic to make Vulkan worthwhile.

I don't understand why MS would need to effectively monitor EVERY single PC using their OS in a constant manner.  Why everyone?  Why not the 5 million(arbitrary number) that choose to be part of a program and leave the rest be?  Piracy?  Good luck.

In order to sustain the security of the OS, and further improve the software, there is absolutely no reason to ninja peoples data.  Millions would voluntarily commit their metadata if asked in a proper manner.

As others have mentioned:  It is the bypassing of client permission that should be troubling to us.  What are they trying to accomplish that can't be done voluntarily with a test group of millions of users?

I don't think people are upset about the ecosystem thingy microsoft is planning to create.
People want the option to not getting involved in it.
OP's topic is trying to point out even you DISABLED those tracking features the OS still collect these data secretly.
    That is creepy.

This confuses me so much, why wouldnt the user just get an HDMI extension for a couple bucks and not bother with the rest of this. Or just not bother because most of the headsets coming out have long cables to begin with?

There is an option to not get involved and it is the most simplest option. Just don't use W10 (though the real solution would be to just stop using any devices that connect to the internet). If privacy is truly a priority in your list, then you should be more willing to sacrifice things for it.
I find this statement ridiculous. You make MS sound so greedy. Funny thing is we didn't have to pay for an upgrade to W10, nor do we really have to pay for any of the Windows updates. I find it completely mind blowing that Windows (any of them) doesn't have a subscription based pricing model for the home users.

In my opinion, freedom isn't exactly free. Everything comes with a price, even the things that sound like they are free.

We've seen the announcement of Amazon's Lumberyard, but few sites seem to expand upon how much potential it has to be used to create MMORPGs. Most tend to focus on the graphical element of it, which is based on Cryengine. I personally look forward to seeing smaller companies make unique MMORPGs with Lumberyard. It's support for integration with AWS and Gamelift makes it very easy for small development teams to produce and release MMORPGs without requiring a dedicated team for infrastructure, and producing both a server and client.

Flashport reacted to GoodBytes in Microsoft will start providing details for Windows Update
One of the biggest complaint of Windows 10, is that updates don't contains any logs or information of any sorts to know what they do.
This has potentially made people and businesses not interested in upgraded to Microsoft latest OS.

Microsoft announces today that they will reveal what changes and fixes Windows Update brings on the table.
This information is available on a web page that the company setup.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/update-history-windows-10

It doesn't include past Windows updates, but from now on, starting with the just released Windows Updates, the information is now there.
Each update also contains the KB code, and its release date on the page, for easy tracking.

Flashport reacted to dalekphalm in Wired to Block Ad-Blocking Users, Offer Ad-Free Subscription
There is some merit in installing Adblock on a persons computer who is, frankly, completely computer illiterate (The kind that you come over and they have 30 browser toolbars, and 600+ malware infections - and you had just cleaned out their system last week).

Obviously it's not black and white, but every user in this forum is at least moderately computer savvy. I personally believe that none of us should be using Adblock to deny content creators revenue. If you donate or otherwise fund them through alternative means (A subscription service, Patreon, monthly donations, etc), then you could argue that it's ethically justified.

But if you enjoy their content for free, without donating/subscribing to a paid service, etc, and block their ads? Well I personally believe if they block you from accessing said content (Anti-Adblock technology), then too bad - I don't really feel any sympathy for those users.

As said above, sure, you have the right to control your browsing experience and to modify web code on YOUR computer - but the content provider also has the right to block you because of said actions.

Personally this is a non-issue for me, because any site that I deem worthy enough to actively browse, I feel deserves my ad revenue, and I'll tough it out and watch the ads.

If a site I frequent has stupidly annoying ads, I will simply stop visiting that site.

Eh, usually any contact like that gets ignored.  And the person who found the flaws gets punished for even trying to find flaws.  And as we have seen in the news over and over and over, nothing changes until there is a huge PR incident.  Unless it goes public, unless lots and lots of people get hurt, the companies or gov't agencies don't do or change anything.  And even then, they only do it because there is a huge incident.  Every other year the gov't loses millions of peoples gov't records data, and just says "oops".  Remember when those 20+ million security clearance records were stolen?  Remember how many changes the gov't made after that?  (hint: nothing of substance)

Public destruction of large groups of people is the only way to make organizations care.  Because they risk loss of profits in the corporate world, or they risk loss of votes in the political/gov't world.

Don't do revenge porn, don't do drugs and don't do anything illegal.

He could have received up to 7 years but he co-operated so they gave him 2 instead. and after that, every time he logs into his email, Screen name, password, computer or whatever he needs his probation officer.
