I'm quite fortunate that down here most of the time the RMA process is carried out by the retailer which means they check it doesn't work send you a new one assuming of course they have stock then they deal with Asus.

    Don't shop there again.

First priority is to replace that PSU. If you still have issues with the system booting after the PSU is repalced we can help then. I have a feeling that whatever issues you're having will resolve themselves with a decent PSU that is actually suitable for your system though.
In the mean time I would probably pull the 1080Ti out of the system and run integrated graphics from your CPU until the replacement PSU arrives.

If you like we can help suggest some units to replace it with. What country are you in? What is your budget for a new PSU? A decent quality 550w unit would be fine for an i5 6600k + 1080Ti.

How are you running a GTX1080Ti with that power supply? According to the info I can find, that power supply only has a single PCIe connector. The GTX1080Ti requires two.

Regardless of what your issue is, that PSU should be replaced ASAP.

Thanks for the post. I was unable to reset my system date, but I found a workaround and wanted to share for any future viewers. I found that the codes listed in the paste bin above (http://pastebin.com/L3c3rySj) had a pattern. Every month/day combination shares the same last 4 characters. So it's the year that changes the first set of characters, and these characters repeat.

    For example:
At the password prompt, press alt+r Take note of the date displayed. For me it was 2017-05-11 Use Ctrl+F to search the paste bin for your month and date. I used "-05-11" Use the codes you find until one of them works. Mine was the same code as 2007-05-11 from the paste bin. It looks like the codes might repeat every 10 years. So I would suggest starting with the month and date combination from 10 years prior to whatever date is displayed after you press alt+r.

The Dell P2217H has all the adjustable-ness you will need and it also features a nice IPS screen with eye-care features available (blue light filter + flicker-free). It's at the edge of your budget but I think it is still a very good option for you:

I had heard people refer to the whole PC as a Hard Drive or a CPU but never a motherboard until lthen

You may be able to do some small overclocking using BCLK, but it's not advised as it can mess other things up. The CPU is not unlocked, so it cannot be overclocked via a multiplier.

So unless you want and have the money for water cooling you should just use the Noctua NH-D15
