  1. You can try CTRL+ALT+DEL or Windows+X -> T to get task manager to try and close it from there Sounds like there was just an issue with launching the game Do you mean lighting or there were sparks?? Either way could be some power draw related issue with that on the GPU side I get this now and then with my RX580, and tend to have to unplug and replug the gpu as you said Just sounds like there was an issue with windows or your gpu not launching doom properly, if youre really concerned you can use DDU to wipe your drivers and reinstall
  2. You could use a Ryzen 3 3100 and still hit 100% on that GPU, its just not very powerful, that CPU is way overkill for gaming and streaming, you would do just fine or even better with a R7 3700x due to the higher clocks, and the money saved can go to a better GPU
  3. Did you reinstall your drivers? use DDU to wipe them and then reinstall the ones for the RX590
  4. try to get one with the same timings
  5. What is your cpu doing? 240hz would be intensive on the cpu to send all the frames, multi gpu or not Also why do you use the other gpu just for videos on chrome? I wouldnt doubt theres some software headaches involved that could cause it
  6. You can get software to split your screen or create zones to seperate, usually used for splitting multiple tabs rather than horizontally You will have a much better experience getting a seperate monitor for youtube and just using that tv as a display ,especially since if its split you will have a strange aspect ratio, that may cause issues in some games You could also just launch games at a custom resolution and move it to the bottom and have a chrome tab take up the top half
  7. What is your laptop? Does it have dedicated graphics? or just integrated If it has a dedicated graphics card and only uses integrated on fullscreen you can disable it in device manager or change the preference in system settings Are your drivers up to date? Are you able to change how the gpu scaling works?
  8. What were the speeds on your coworkers card?
  9. Why would you want to do this? This is acceptable temps Where would you plug in the new fan if your current one doesnt have one?
  10. Theres arent the same as the new Zen 3 / Ryzen 4000 that everyone is expecting, that list of cpus are for system builders only (dell, hp etc) This video explains it well
  11. Your computer might take a while to turn on after you change the ram you will have to go into the bios to enable the higher speeds (xmp/docp)
  12. Ah apologies I must have read it wrong I wouldnt doubt that your network is seeing the wifi extender as one device and the others beyond it arent able to reacquire properly, or that the extender doesnt know how to manage the leases properly
  13. Try go for a Ryzen 3 3100 over the 3200G, youre not spending extra on the integrated graphics and itll perform better Thats pretty overkill for those specs, you could go to 500W and save a few bucks Try for 2 sticks of 4gb so you can run dual channel, or leave it if you plan on adding an extra 8gb stick down the track, Everything runs much better with dual channel memory
  14. Try and use a pair or different pair of headphones to see if the issue persists What do the microphone settings in windows and discord look like? My old Razer headphones would somehow play some sounds through the mic line (even if the mic was taken out), probably something to do with the internal wiring picking it up
  15. Honestly id start from the bottom, unplug as much as youre willing to do and replug it all in Maybe use 1-2 sticks of ram and swap between them to see if one of them might be faulty? Maybe even psu could be failing but it doesnt look like you have a high load when it crashes If you wanted to see if its hardware or software even maybe try test around in linux and see if that crashes?
  16. Sounds like it could be the leases for the devices/extender expiring and then when theyre reacquired theyre not getting dns? Rather than a "wifi extender" it sounds like you should go with a switch or a hub?
  17. I came across this with my mates laptop, he was able to ping google, but not access any sites, for him it looked like manually setting the dns to cloudfare or google, or manually setting the ip addresses, gateway, dns fixed it, so if you can try maybe manually setting these? Weird how your note doesnt seem to work as well on wifi but on mobile it does, are you able to look into anything on your router config page?
  18. Looking online it appears to be an issue with steam? close and restart steam, or maybe try reinstalling steam itself, your games should still exist, it looks like its something to do where steam is installed and where the games are installed? https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/492378265876778212/ You can also try to, use DDU to wipe and reinstall your graphics drivers, try reinstalling directx as well?
  19. Download something like msi afterburner so you can see what your cpu, gpu, and memory are all doing when this happens, Look at your frametimes (the times between the frames, you could have 19134728347 fps but if the frametimes shoot up it will feel worse than 30) What is your cpu % at? if its hitting 100% and all of a sudden your system slows down that could be it, or you could even be running out of memory and the system locks up trying to free up more, however 16gb should be fine see if turning on vsync helps at all too
  20. The standard card is a "Founder's Edition", you can overclock it however other cards are usually better as they have better cooling and power delivery, Im not sure what you mean you dont have a fan, unless you mean case fan? Do you mean adding +185mhz to clock and +450 to memory? You wont be able to "set" them to 185 and 450, you can try it but an overclock on one card wont always work on another and if you outright add those it might cause issues, you will have to try a lower overclock (Say 50/100 on both) and stress test the card, use something like furmark3d or 3dmark timespy, or any sort of gpu stress test Once you are sure that 50 on both is working fine, add 50 to the core, run again, add 50 to memory, run again, its all trial and error for tweaking Follow something like this 92c looks like the temp limit for a 1060, if you hit this your card will start to underclock or throttle itself to keep itself safe This video has lots of info on built in thermal protection on the cards Yes, however with everything, it depends, It may not "significantly" decrease your pcs lifespan, but the card running hotter and faster will increase the risk of failure, usually relating to thermal paste or power delivery, you should be fine with what you are looking to do however
  21. If you are having issues running it, download optifine from optifine.net
  22. is there any software on your os that could be trying to apply an overclock? are you able to update the bios?
  23. Highly doubt they will until the new series of GPU's from each team are released, as well as new Ryzen on the ... Horyzen (bad pun)
  24. Id say theyd mean the actual blurring from fast moving objects on the screen rather than a games motion blur https://lmgtfy.com/?q=does+freesync+reduce+input+lag You will have a nicer experience with freesync enabled
  25. If it started overwriting the bios and cut off, you will not have a working bios It looks like it had a built in failsafe and aborted before it starting writing anything, so yuore safe
