  1. If this is anything to go by: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10580/nvidia-releases-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb I can't see the 1060 being that much faster than an rx 470, especially in gaming evolved titles such as Tomb raider, Dirt series and all those games. But honestly it's too early to make an informed judgment, I'd just wait a bit probably 2 weeks and Linus will probably even do a review of it, which would more than likely have the RX 470 scores in it as well.
  2. Do it, I fought with 10 for about a week, then i wiped my boot drive and fresh installed 8.1, I never intend to go to windows 10 again, or even use a computer with windows 10 on it.
  3. Depending on pricing I would go with a 1060, on what iv been able to find the 1060 appears sort of 25-30% faster in benchmarks than the rx 470. Then again it will depend on pricing, not too sure where you live but 1060 could be $100 more than 470 so ultimately it will come down to price per performance once theirs some more solid benchmark numbers.
  4. Don't upgrad to 10 unless you really have to. 80% of my steam libary stopped working on windows 10, i lost the start menu tile thing i liked so much about 8.1 and the only reason i would even run it is for Forza Horizion 3, but I'm not putting up with 10 just for that. If i were you I'd stick with 7.
  5. Yeah from the little I can find comparing the 2 it looks like about half my games would loose around 5 fps but then again I'm assuming i could get the 3960x up to 4.5Ghz fairly easily so perhaps i could regain them
  6. I agree with "TheRandomness" the board is overkill I'd look for something around the $200 - $250 dollar mark, however i would personally stick with the 750w as it leaves room to potentially add something like a second 1080. Also I'm personally not the biggest fan of the corsair coolers, just my opinion, but I much prefer the nepton 240m to the 100i or 105i. Either way this will be a very capable gaming rig
  7. But what about in games such as cities xxl and cities skylines? Wouldn't the 3960x perform better in this regard? also for all round performance aren't they very similar? I can't seem to find a ton of benchmarks directly comparing the 2 cpus.
  8. Hello, I'm looking at buying a 3960x to replace my 4770k, does anyone know where I could purchase a 3960x and preferably a rampage iv extreme for around the $500 AUD mark ($490 Cad or $380 US). Also would people recommend this? I think I will be doing it anyway but still interested in getting peoples opinions on it. Thanks
  9. All 5 are 1080, all 60hz, all have HDMI ports, 4x have DVI ports. If it helps the PC has a 4770k, 32gb dominator platinums, msi gaming 5 board, ax1200i, 2x 480gb ssds, 2x 4tb harddrives, and the CPU has a nepton 240m for it. Also one of the displays im trying to connect is a TV
  10. Hello, I have a Radeon R9 295x2 that powers my main three displays but I want to use my 5970 to power 2 additional displays. However, even after downloading the 5000 series driver for 8.1 it still isn't recognised even in Hardware Monitor. Does anyone know how to get it to work? If not is there a way to run all 5 displays from the 295x2? I have 4x mini display port adapters but when I connected them all and a DVI to the cards port it only output to three of the 5 displays. Thanks
  11. use to run 2x gigabyte 690's, before that 2x gigabyte 590's, right now gigabyte titan z, on friday my gigabyte 295x2 arrives and in my laptop i have an 860m
  12. Thank you again to all those who commented i will be mounting the radiator on the back of the case in push pul just below the nepton 240m. I will comment again in this forum hopefully on Friday to report how 290x+295x2 tri fire works. thanks again jack
  13. Thank you both very much my friend also told me to put it their i was just concerned about cpu temps i really want a quiet pc thats why it's all solid state storage and recently all NFF's12 running low noise adapters. Thank you again i might get the 290x and try 3 way crossfire. PS in Australia the cheapest i could find a 295x2 for was $900 used the rest were brand new and over $1000 so i fell like i got a pretty great deal.
  14. hello, i have a question about the 295x2, i have recently purchased a 295x2 for an absolute steal at just $750. Never been mined on or overclocked. I was wondering where is the best place to put the card traditionally i have ran dual gpu Nvidia cards (2x gigabyte 590's, 2x gigabyte 690's and recently a gigabyte titan z) but now i have a gigabyte 295x2 and was wondering where to put the radiator to best cool the card and not hurt my cpu temps too much. I have a coolermaster stryker case with all 4 of my ssds mounted in the drive bay so both 120mm spots on the bottom of the case are available for the 295x2 radiator, also the back of the case is an option. In the roof i have a cooler master nepton 240m. Is their anyone who knows where i should be mounting the radiator for the card? i don't really want it to put 70c heat right near my cpu as id like to try and avoid using the rear spot, but then again i don't want it under the drives heating them up. What is my best solution for the cooler master stryker in the configuration? thanks for all responses. PS i does anyone know if it is possible to run the 295x2 with a single 290x in 3 way crossfire?
  15. Thank you to all those how helped me, it tuns out that the issues was the auto setting on the board way overvaulting the cpu, after re seating the cooler and re setting the board max load temps are 56c @ 3.5ghz idling around 22-21c
