  1. I will dig around in the case and see what positions the card can fit. This should be fun, thanks for the tips.
  2. Crap, you're right. I wonder if I could mount it upside down and secure the card in a janky way. My reasoning for this is so she is running a i5-4690k instead of her Athlon 860k. used LGA 1150 boards cost an arm and a leg.
  3. When I get home, I'm going to try a test fit of a Dell OEM motherboard in my wife's mini ITX case. I know some dell motherboards have weird sizes, and other proprietary headers and all that jazz, but I'm ready to deal with that later. The problem with this motherboard is the first PCI-E slot is a 1x slot and the 2nd slot is a 16x slot. A graphics card won't fit because the case needs the card to be in the first slot. I want to remove the 1x slot and use a riser to have the graphics card positioned in the first slot. If I were to remove the 1x slot, would there be any reason the 16x slot would stop working? Would I ruin any runs/traces to other parts of the motherboard? I have a soldering Iron, heat gun and a solder vacuum.
  4. If shadow play works for you, great. Mic adjustments as mentioned earlier should fix the issue. Try OBS if you want more control over your recordings! It's worth the setup effort.
  5. If I had the cash to throw away, I would try this out and give some feed back. I'm on a pretty strict budget, I don't want to drop over $500 for two of these mixers. After reading the description, it seems to do exactly what I want! This is a neat devise. Very niche market it seems. That's why I felt a single quality mixer would do the trick. So far I'm leaning towards getting my wife a open ear headset with a mod mic. That's almost the definitive decision, I just need to convince her to let me spend some money
  6. Unfortunately our desk is against a wall and we sit side by side. Our monitors share a dual monitor stand, but that might be a great solution for anyone in that position!
  7. Fair enough, I guess I will have some miscommunication for a short period of time. I do have a programmable button below my scroll wheel, that might be easy to use. gw2 and league don't use a crazy amount of left clicks, so that free's up that finger. Or I could get use to using a different push to talk button depending on the game. My mouse automatically switches profiles based on the game I load up. I have two programmable side buttons, but they are heavily used for in came commands.
  8. I noticed there is a fully featured 60 day trial. I will see what reaper can do. I'll poke around and see if I can figure out how the program works. That's two votes for open back headphones so far!
  9. Open backs sound like a pretty great idea, I never though of that. I'll keep that one in mind. Ugh, push to talk lol. I play a lot of league and Guild Wars 2. I always forget to hit the button when I'm in a panic. I can never find a good button for push to talk.
  10. Satellite internet has been getting pretty good, depending on the provider. Speeds are capable of good download and streaming speed, but the trade off is ping. This is speaking from personal experience. It really depends on the satellite provider. I've experienced anything from 70-200 ping in game.
  11. Is it possible that some USB ports are 'wired' further away from the onboard audio? Maybe switching to a different USB port will fix it. Just a shot in the dark.
  12. Hello everyone, Me and my wife both sit at the same desk, side by side. We play a few games online together with our friends; usually using discord, twitch/curse, or TeamSpeak for communication. I'm looking for purchase a setup that would make it a good experience for everyone else on the receiving end of our chatter. 1) Is there a microphone that I can situate between me and my wife that would pick both of our voices clearly, or would it be better to have two separate microphones? I feel the problem with a single microphone would be a lot of ambient noise or our friends would hear both of our keyboards/mice. 2)Mixer: I'm not sure if I need a mixer, but here are my thoughts: There is small enough of a delay with voice comms, that if we have a separate microphone, I will hear her voice, then after a short delay I will hear her through the voice comm. We've tried muting each other in the voice comm, but with headphones on it's difficult to hear each other. Would we be able to run our mics through a mixer so we can have real time transmission to each other's headphones? Is there an easier solution? Am I over thinking this?
  13. Great thanks! I couldn't find anything like this with a google search. I'll read this tomorrow morning.
  14. Is it possible to have it so my laptop does not lock when it is on a trusted network, such as my home, parents, etc? I know cellphones have this feature, or if they are connected to a certain Bluetooth device, the phone will not ask for the password. I was hoping my laptop would be able to do this as well.
  15. My friend had two 780ti's. One day his PC did the exact same thing. When we removed Card 2, the pc booted. Both cards= no boot. Single Card(1)= booted. Single Card(2)=no boot. I took his 2nd card home, and my pc would not boot when I had it installed. His 2nd card was dedzz.
