Dr_Nooberious got a reaction from Hairless Monkey Boy in Choosing the best case
My bad sorry.
I accoumulated 4 drives over a few years and buying a new case would be better for me in the long run. My current case is crap so an upgrade is "2 birds with one stone" sort of deal.
Thanks.

it is mostly fine, it's just in games like shadow of the colossus, and (my guilty pleasure) shadow the hedgehog. But I might as well start saving up to upgrade the cpu, the only reason I even have an 8350 is because it was on sale for $100, in the meantime I'll try experimenting with overclocks

Something like this, and get an XLR to USB cable, and a mic stand/arm each
These kinds of mic are great at rejecting outside sounds (such as hearing each other over both mics, or hearing pc/typing noise etc)

Do you mean something like this?
With the power connectors at the end of the PCB?

Or follow Linus's advice and getto mod the case so the card can fit.

Right here
Since you want to build a seperate rig for editing and you dont plan on doing much with this one, you wont need more than 16gb ram.
The GPU is pretty dated and youd benefit greatly from one of the new model, I use a 970 and is maxes the settings for almost ever 1080p game. But if you end up getting a 1440p later you might want to just bite the bullet and get the 460/70/80, whatever you can afford. However make sure the software you use works well with AMD, I edit videos in HitFilm and they down work well with AMD.
Next would be the MOBO just because it's easier to change it now than later after you buy RAM and a new CPU (if you could buy all three of these at once, that would be easiest). Last would be the monitor, since it actually has a moderate refresh rate... I would save up and get a really good/cheap 21:9 curved monitor.

Dr_Nooberious reacted to jjohnthedon1 in GPU overclocking Core and Memory. Why oc the memory?
There a multitude of variables that affect frame times but memory will help but only if u have a memory bottleneck
nice oc btw!
Very impressed

Dr_Nooberious reacted to Xaring in GPU overclocking Core and Memory. Why oc the memory?
You get more frames per second, you feel the game smoother, easier aiming, more tick rate, your PC says "im firing" more times each second, might give you a slight edge if your opponents PC is running at 30FPS (or on a console Kappa).

Dr_Nooberious reacted to reptileexperts in A good CPU cooler for overclock and future compatibility
I used one for the start of my build on an i7 overclocked to 4.8 ghz @ 1.275v and it capped at 95, if I kept it around 1.25 or lower it maxed around 80.

Dr_Nooberious reacted to reptileexperts in A good CPU cooler for overclock and future compatibility
corsair H55 and H60 would match that budget point for an AIO that is on a 120mm radiator to fit most case exhausts.

a prob
Sounds like a full screen problem. Try running them in windowed mode or boderless windowed mode and see it that helps.
Do you have a driver specificly for your monitor? Windows's built in driver work but not all the time.
Hope this helps>
