Just overall seems like a Horrible idea to have a 3 in one PC for this type of thing.

You want your personal photo and files on a seperate thing, you dont want them mixed with a game server that you want people connecting to, as well as films and shows.

Shimejii got a reaction from xg32 in Are Oled Gaming Monitors really good for gaming?
They are going to be the best for the next 5-10 years before the next display tech comes out that beats them (Self-emmisive Panel tech) and even then OLED is going to have a major advantage with brightness (even though its pretty dim compared to mini LED)

if you play FPS or games with visuals, yeah OLED is the best monitor on the market, from 4k 240hz to 1440p 360hz for the FPS oriented games. There is simply nothing better.

Burn in is a huge concern, but if you have the budget for a 700-1400$ monitor, its not enough of one to matter. As long as you are smart with your usage and properly doing OLED maintenance care, they should last a few years.

Shimejii got a reaction from kirashi in Is that premade thermal paste on my new CPU heatsink fan?
Yeah that is thermal paste. You can leave it alone and just use it 🙂 That is what its for.

No you dont have to apply paste to the CPU, just use what you have on there. If you take it apart again you may need to use new paste.

id prob go 7950x. Since its a workstation rather then a pure gaming system. Dont need a workstation class Mobo, just one with exactly what you need with a 10Gbe integrated and the amount of USB ports.

You could  go 14900k, but expect it to also need a slightly bigger case and some tuning. 360mm AIO minimum.
4080ti doesnt exist o.o did you mean 4080/4080Super?

Case wise you can easily just get an ATX board and case, you dont need a super large case for this.

When you buy RAM beyond the normal spec most people use, yes. Cinnebench failing with XMP off is not a good sign for sure. Try one stick of the ram, if it fails again try the other one, if it fails yet again then you know either CPU is borked or both ram sticks are, or motherboard may have issues. This is why troubleshooting this kind of issue can  be a rabbithole of problems lol.

Shimejii got a reaction from GuiltySpark_ in Is DDR4 good enough to run a 14700/13900K/14900k?
Just gonna be honest, If you are buying a 14700k/14900k, you should just buy the DDR5. DDR4 is for budget systems. 14900k Is FAR from that and you should be using the D5 for the performance gain.  Yes using the proper dimms, speed, and timings will net you a good chunk of performance.

Base on the Latency wordplay it seems this may be a troll.

Shimejii got a reaction from Zando_ in Case Radiator Compatibility Question. case fits 3 140mm fans but why not a 420 rad?
Not a dumb question. Usually if it can fit 3 140s, it can fit a 420 rad. But sometimes the 420 rads are not 420, they can be longer by a bit, sometimes they are too thick  etc. Just comes down to the radiator. It should honestly fit, but they may just say 360 fits because they can gurantee all of them will fit.

i mean its gonna come down to what you want to do and if you want to spend the extra. the AMD platform should have 2 more CPU gens at minimum so you have some more flexibility there. For cost if you really need to then the 13600k is more then enough for most  people. If you plan on getting a 4080/7900XT type GPU id recommend the 7800x3D, But if you are going to be on the 4060-4070 type then it just comes down to what games. Some games REALLY benefit from the Vcache, some not so much.

The overclocking thing you arent going to have much luck on either platform. These CPUS dont really have all that much wiggle room for OC.

For ram, get 6000 CL30 ram. Do not go beyond that.

No, Get a damn case. If you are spending this much money on a system,  put it in a damn case. You can get a Fractal Pop for like 80$.

Cooler, Id get a 280/360 if you go 7800x3D route, not 420. Since 420 is gonna require a much bigger case.

For the multi tasking issue, it really comes down to what you are doing. Remember that the Intel cpus are Actually 6 core and 8 cores, not 12-24 cores. Those e-cores tend to be for back ground stuff and are not used for the primary programs.

Intel tends to be better if you are doing certain tasks with Adobe, but AMD has been more then enough and can it done just as well.

Make sure you select the EU region.  Other then that its a mixed bag of fine and some glaring issues.

RAM: Get a 2x32GB kit or a 2x16 kit not 2x 2x16 kits. You only want to use 2 dimms for the best results. 32 GB is still more then enough for gaming.

For the storage, are buy buying all that storage you listed in the PCPart list? Because some of those parts are quite old and not really good.

Id get rid of the HDD's, and the very old 960 evo, Get a SN 850x 1TB or 2 TB, or 2 of em. Storage pricing is a LOT more expensive now then it was 3-4 months ago.

Other then that rest seems fine.

You are better off waiting You already have quite high end hardware, makes very little sense to upgrade at this point. Yes a 7800x3d+4090 would make things better for 4k gaming, but thats also gonna cost you 2800ish minimum for CPU+mobo+ram+GPU unless you live near Microcenter.

Id just wait. Just adjust your settings.

Yeah, 4 dimms dont work at XMP. Pretty much been a thing for over a decade. Filling it out all the ram slots and attempting fast ram usually goes quite poorly. Im honestly surprised you even got 3400mhz to run, Often it doesnt go beyond 3000, usually 2666.

Shimejii got a reaction from podkall in Can the CL / Latency affect compatability?
Each kit is different, you got one thats not validated. It still has a good chance to work, just enable XMP/EXPO and see if it works. Your kit should be fine as its within tolerance. IF you have any instability with the ram kit then id suggest getting a 6000mhz CL 30 kit on the QVL list for the mobo.

You dont need a 980 PRO, get a SN 850x for cheaper. Performs the same if not better, and for gaming its more then enough.

Get a different PSU, a 750W Plat for 180$ is a pretty terrible deal. Should be able to get a different one, 850W Gold or plat.

Get different ram, you want 6000 mhz CL30 preferably.

You can swap the NH-D15 for a Thermalright Phantom Spirit, or get an Arctic 280mm AIO for cheaper, or a 360 Arctic if your case allows, although 280mm is fine for a 7800x3d.

I wouldnt get a massive case if you dont need it. The Fractal POP series is more then enough.

You cant upgrade to a Zen 4 CPU on x570. Zen 4 uses a new CPU and motherboard type (Going from PGA (pins on CPU) on older zen CPUS to LGA (Pins on mobo).

For the most part it shouldnt cause an issue, if needed you can always disable the IGPU on the CPU.

Delete that bottleneck calc from your history and NEVER use it again. Its garbage.

7800x3D is the best cpu for gaming. 7950x3D has its own issues and i pretty much will never recommend it.

7950x is better for production, 7800x3D better for gaming, 7950x3D had the potential of being the best of both, but just isnt worth it due to the scheduling issues its had.
