You are better off waiting You already have quite high end hardware, makes very little sense to upgrade at this point. Yes a 7800x3d+4090 would make things better for 4k gaming, but thats also gonna cost you 2800ish minimum for CPU+mobo+ram+GPU unless you live near Microcenter. Id just wait. Just adjust your settings.

You cant upgrade to a Zen 4 CPU on x570. Zen 4 uses a new CPU and motherboard type (Going from PGA (pins on CPU) on older zen CPUS to LGA (Pins on mobo). For the most part it shouldnt cause an issue, if needed you can always disable the IGPU on the CPU.

Should I go for the 7800x3d or 7950x3d
Shimejii replied to Cooper123321's topic in New Builds and Planning
Delete that bottleneck calc from your history and NEVER use it again. Its garbage. 7800x3D is the best cpu for gaming. 7950x3D has its own issues and i pretty much will never recommend it. 7950x is better for production, 7800x3D better for gaming, 7950x3D had the potential of being the best of both, but just isnt worth it due to the scheduling issues its had. -
Its one of the better options new in that price range. However its still not great at some of those titles. R6 its 230fps at 1080p, so you are going to be in that range. For production work stuff, i honestly havent seen much with them. https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/intel-arc-a770-and-a750-content-creation-review-sept-2023-update/ Based on pudgets results id say they are fine

Nope. Super budget board = not worth it. If it wasnt a bare minimum board id consider it not terrible, but not great. You are avoiding the Upfront tax cost, so 100-200$. Other than that is just okay. Pretty much saving about 150$.

CPU barely uses any power (110W at most) so it shouldnt be a PSU issue. I would Clear CMOS just to start fresh. 5800x3D usually maxes out on all cores at 4.45ghz, 4.5ghz isnt gonna work. All you should do is enable XMP and enable PBO. Also make sure you are on the most up to date bios. PBO2 Tuner helps stabilize the clock speeds by lowering the voltage a bit and thus lowering the thermals, allowing it to boost to the higher frequency. The chips are pretty thermally sensitive so.

Bottleneck or what wrong with this build?
Shimejii replied to Grasshopper's topic in Troubleshooting
Esports settings have a few guides in each game for what settings to put on low and medium etc. You d have to look up the CS2 Settings guides. Xeon gaming is pretty much only for people on extreme budgets that are buying used office PC type systems. They get the job done but dont expect them to compete with CPUS designed for gaming. -
Fortnite is an outlier, Unreal Engine 5 has been having major issues across the board. To answer the video question, Val is the type of game that only really uses a few cores. So you will have some cores running faster then others. Sometimes MSI afterburner can be a bit wonky with that. Have you been doing any PBO Offset tuning with it? I use PBO2 Tuner (program you can download) on my 5800x3D, -25 to each core, on the 2nd page 120 PPT, TDC 80, EDC 110. Makes it so it runs a rock solid 4.45ghz in the more demanding games. Otherwise if your CPU is hardlocked to 3.8ghz, you are going to have to check the BIOS settings as there are some wonkly ASUS settings that can screw up the clock speeds. Clear CMOS it may help

i mean you are using a Xeon cpu, what exactly did you expect? They are not designed for gaming, they are only used for it when you can get them super cheap on used markets. CS2 with the update likes fast CPU cores, not a bunch of CPU cores. Youd have to adjust the ingame settings to be in esports mode and go from there. 100+ fps with a 3070 and a xeon is honestly not that bad considering. -
Buy a good used phone. Pretty much it. At 300$ you arent getting very much new unless you do trade ins.

Ryzen 9 5950X reaching 87°c with 360mm AIO
Shimejii replied to Sanedish's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Do you have CAM downloaded? I know some kraken AIO's simply dont work without it, usually pump ramp up and down. Fans can usually be controlled elsewhere. -

MC with mods and texture packs can make even the high end cpus get VERY toasty and have some issues. getting to 80-90c in MC is pretty normal with that type of mod honestly. See if there is any conflicts, i know optifine has had issues in the past causing major dips. -
What should cpu should i upgrade to
Shimejii replied to fragss's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Neither are worth it. 7800x3D is all you will need for gaming, or if you want intel 14600k/14700k. Generally speaking it depends on the games you play. As long as the FPS and such is good enough you should be fine with a 5900x, some games would benefit but honestly you should still be fine for a bit. Until the system no longer does what you ask of it, id hold off upgrading. -
I just upgraded my system and am having trouble with xmp.
Shimejii replied to Coozle's topic in Troubleshooting
that is NOT what you stated. You said you were using a 2x32 kit.. Not a 4x16 kit. 4 sticks of ram generally wont get to the full speeds. -
7000mhz CL34 vs 6000mhz CL30 DDR5. Which is better?
Shimejii replied to Krai1234's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
You shouldnt be torn, 6000 cl30 by far. You get such a small benefit from going faster, AND there will be instability more then likely. Ryzen 7000 likes 6000 cl30 and not much more on most boards. Some people have experimented with going faster and most dont have all that great results in comparison to how much effort they put in to get it to be actually stable. -

13th gen should easily get 6000 mhz, thats a cl34 kit so even moreso it should be hitting it without much issue. Is the BIOS the most recent up to date one? -
Just know that if you prefer the Model D shape, deathadder is the same shape (Right hand ergo) wheras the Gpro is an Ambidex mouse.
-
Id consider Razer Deathadder Pro v3. Never buy a finalmouse they are garbage mice for the money. I went from a Model D to a Deathadder based on a few mouse reviews and i can say its a better mouse clearly. Other two i would consider if they got a price drop to around 100$ is the two magnesium mice, the WL Beast X mouse or the storm breaker, but storm breaker is WAY more expensive that it has any right to be. A mouse should at most cost around 100$, anything more is just over priced. You can get a Deathadder v3 pro on amazon for around 90$

can try a clear CMOS and see if that does anything, otherwise you will either have to buy a new mobo, or try finding a bios chip flash tool and hope it works.

No it cannot. It requires display port to run at those speeds. 4k 144hz should be doable over HDMI. Also 240hz doesnt make much sense on a MAC since you arent going to be gaming much at all o.o
