    Update 10: Assembly

So I have a lot of work to do and therefor I need my workstation up and runnig. So I finished it as fast as possible.
I'm a bit paranoid about leaking so I used dual or even triple sealing whereover possible. Sadly the oil and temperature resistant sealing was only aviable in brown-red, but I can paint the outside black again later.

The system is a ligth load at the moment to speed up the drying process of all the adhesive and sealing used. I will fill it with oil in a couple of hours.
The only thing still missung is the metal stip to protect the IOs of the GPU and the glas plate on top.

First up, if this is only for simple gaming, forget the 5820K and X99 and grab yourself a i5 6600K and a Z170 motherboard - it should be much cheaper. Use the extra money to buy a SSD for your OS and primary games and applications.

Forget the 32GB of RAM, just get 16GB - it's already more than enough.

I'd go for the choice in between those two cards and get a GTX 970/R9 390.

Forget the Silverstone and Enermax PSUs, grab yourself a much more reliable SeaSonic or XFX 500-600W model.

Ram speeds barely effects (affects?) FPS in games, you would be fine with 1600mhz even.

Ones I can think of off the top of my head:

    https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

You can also go with Dell (Alienware), HP, etc.

Most people on this forum will probably recommend that you build your own, though. Most likely you will get more bang for your buck. But the upside of going with these services is (1) less time investment on your part, and (2) some of them offer good customer service if you really don't want to deal with the building/troubleshooting yourself.

I think Linus made a video about the trade-offs, but I don't remember what it was called.

Blaxow reacted to Bittenfleax in Raid for first build
As long as you buy an expensive high-end motherboard with a good raid controller on it. However, there are some things to keep in mind:

    1. Why RAID 1? What "important" data/OS will you be running? Could a cloud service be a better option to store sensitive info?
2.The price. You have to buy two drivers now. Also, a high end motherboard with good raid controller. (Also, going back to Cloud for a cheaper service) (or a dedicated raid controller which are a lot although I think you can get cheap second hand ones but that would be defeating the object of keeping data safe if you buy an old 'used' controller)

If you have the 'cash to splash' then sure! Why not?! It will be fun and you can learn on the way. If you don't really want to spend much then you can use the Cloud (there are many services from which you can choose, a quick Google search should return the best ones) to save all of your sensitive data.

Blaxow reacted to Trik'Stari in Microsoft AI shutdown for being racist
So, Microsoft started an AI chatbot program that was meant to "entertain and engage" with people over the internet.

Apparently Microsoft forgot, that the internet is a wholly toxic and destructive place, when it comes to comedy and social media. Their new AI/chatbot was taken down, after it had apparently learned to be racist.

It is worth pointing out, that a lot of it was simply users trying to get the chatbot to repeat what they had just said.

I find this funny. Not because of what was being parroted by the chatbot, but simply because a bunch of trolls can completely derail a project by a multi-billion dollar corporation.

If you're talking about pure antifreeze then don't do it.
Antifreeze doesn't transfer heat as well as water.
it is too thick and would make problems with the pump.

you could use another stronger pump.
    or
If you dilute the coolant, then you will be fine.

    ---
This is just me thinking, i have no experience in this matter of using antifreeze in pc's.

You may want to take a look at Xpenology, its a hacked version of Synology Diskstation. The install is a bit more difficult than FreeNAS, but actually using and configuring it is much easier, plus it has an "app" for running a Plex server.
