Yep, the event tends to be heavy on CPUs.  Some folks find out real quick if their CPUs are stable on their clocks with this event.

rf9661 got a reaction from r2724r16 in VPN for use on school network...
    Hello all!
I'm looking for a VPN to use on my school's network. I've tried the following paid VPNs: NordVPN (Obfuscated servers occasionally work, but the iOS app is a pain), ExpressVPN, VyperVPN, and Windscribe (worked for a few months until the school blocked it).
Any recommendations on one that won't be blocked? Each time one stopped working, I contacted support... ExpressVPN and VyperVPN both gave up and said that there was nothing they could do.
    All help is much appreciated.
Note: since I'm on LTT, I figure most will recommend PIA since they sponsor LTT. Most of their servers are blocked, a school mate of mine has it and has tested it. Supposedly, the Houston server is the only US one that works.

I did a quick search and saw this post on the Level1 Tech forums: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/multiple-monitors-in-virtualbox/115445/3 and it seems that there is a driver issue (if that's even a thing with mac, never used one tbh). They mention a "VirtualBox tools" package needs to be installed on the VM (MacOS in your case).

EDIT: Really wish they embedded it into the software tbh!

    Hope This Helps,
    Chris

I'm not a big fan of the Blackmagic one since it's not very I/O friendly and not upgradable. But, it has a nice design.

Photos and documents can simply be copy pasted over after you clean install windows.
    https://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/
You unplug the drive during installation but afterwards you can plug it back in and access it just like a USB drive (but make sure you boot from the new SSD, not the old drive)

    Get an 850 evo.
You should reinstall windows and programs on the new SSD, do not clone or migrate or anything like that.

The NH programs have had issues connecting recently, this is an issue that quite a few people have had, myself included.
Make sure you have the latest versions as that has fixed the issue.

For XMR and AOEN, XMR-Stak is easy to use and setup. Plus it can be used for other coins as well like SumoKoin.

what size m.2/ 2.5 but yeah I would go with the Samsung Evo line if you have the cash go with the EVO 960 line it gets pricey but the r/w speeds can be blazing. also at a lower price range WD black  is good

rf9661 reacted to Belgarathian in Macs are 3x cheaper than Windows based PCs says IBM
Recently Fletcher Previn took to the stage at a Jamf conference to show that over the long-term, macOS based systems cost 1/3 as much as Windows based platforms in the IBM workforce. This is comprised of a larger up-front capital investment, but is offset by reduced support costs over the life cycle of the asset.

I've used both systems, and I'd have to say that the macOS operating system is far more intuitive and intimate (like iOS vs Android) but less flexible than Windows as the OS tends to be locked down, and prevents the user from changing or deleting components that are critical to operation. macOS tends to handle system and software crashes slightly more elegantly too.

Flame wars aside, what are your thoughts on enterprise macOS roll out given that Apple seems to be focusing on Education and Consumer markets, and not enterprise? RIP Xserve.

    Hello!

I'm looking into purchasing a new laptop. I have no budget but looking into the $1000~$1500. I'm currently looking at the Asus ROG GL552VW or GL752VW. I dont want a 10lbs laptop either. It will be my on the go laptop that will be used for school work, light gaming when away from my main machine, and lots of YouTube. Let me know!
