  1. Since when were 72000 RPM drives a thing?
  2. Do you really need one of these? Most of the time airflow is fine just the way it is. Perhaps consider saving the money for a new case.
  3. Nice comparable benchmarks to a modern card http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-Quadro-FX-380-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/m8914vs3603
  4. Stick it on your wall or just chuck it. The thing is so old now it really isn't worth anything.
  5. Drill a few 140mm holes in the top of the cabinet and attach standard 12v high power fans like Delta fans or do what I said before with the holes and run 140/120mm ducting with a fan up into your ceiling.
  6. Pulse Width Modulation is what PWM stands for I'm pretty sure.
  7. I understand that I'm not maxing out my Vram but I certainly wasn't expecting this much to be used up. I specifically chose the 1060 because of the great performance for the money and it had 6GB of Vram. Thinking 1080p would not use that much in a while but obviously I was wrong because it's already that close.
  8. Yup I was thinking that as well and it's not like the card is struggling. Most of the time I'm in the 60's and in doom around 120-130FPS.
  9. Gday folks! I have owned my 1060 for a couple of months now and I love the performance I get from it but the one thing that really annoys me is that 6GB runs out pretty damn quickly. Just playing Doom, GTA 5 or Just Cause 3 is using 4.6 - 5.1GB and I'm only playing at 1080p! What are your thoughts on this kinda thing and do you feel it's happening with you as well?
  10. Why don't you just make your own set of front IO. You can customize it and not restricted to colors of LED's and button type. It's really easy. Just go to your local electronics store (in Australia it's Jaycar) and pickup buttons, wire, LED etc. Other than that all you have to do is drill the holes and attach them with glue or whatever. Wiring should be easy ad if in doubt, look online. Otherwise just look on Ebay like this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/65cm-USB-3-0-2-0-Audio-Port-PC-Computer-Case-Front-Panel-Bracket-Replace-Cable-/261968322180?hash=item3cfe875e84:g:SC8AAOSwu4BVphgh
  11. Every PSU I have ever owned has had some sort of buzz to it but only audible if I put my ear up to it.
  12. Most of the time I get 400-600Kb/s down and 60Kb/s up... Godamn Australian internet.
  13. I have a 120GB for my OS and it never reaches more than 50% full.
  14. Clearly a bug. There is no way a HDD or two can push those speeds.
  15. As the title says just name some things that you hate when working with computers. I only made this topic because I am really bored The two things I hate when building PC's are thumbscrews for Graphics Cards and the dumb fragile USB 3.0 connector.
  16. Just make sure that if they have back plates you will have enough clearance between the cards. Sometimes the back plates interfere with cards above.
  17. I have the turbo 1060 and it's quite a nice card but can get a little noisy. I believe you will have the same issue as well. The bottom card will be the coolest in both scenarios.
  18. The heat from the bottom card will rise from the back plate into the card above which is pulled in by the fans and that just repeats up to the top card. The Gigabyte cards will probably be a little quieter but still run pretty hot and possibly (not definitely) could thermal throttle.
  19. I also don't think 4 blower cards will sound like a jet engine..... Gotta love them GE-90's!
  20. Whatever cooling you go with water cooling will be the best. Having 4 cards of blower or open cooler design together will certainly get toasty and noisy.
  21. I went from a 660 to a 1060 6GB and it was amazing. Definitely a good card to look at for 1080p but if you play DX12 and Vulcan games go for the R10 480.
