  1. Thanks for the suggestions but I'd have to look for something from germany since I am german.
  2. Yeah seems like the most direct solution, but in that case I'd still need a new micro itx motherboard since im currently using a atx one but don't want the nas to use up that much space. Got any suggestions for a good micro itx motherboard with at least 4 sata 6gb/s ports?
  3. Hey Guys, I'm currently using a QNAP TS-451+ as an file, media and plex server but as of late I've noticed that it couldnt really handle full hd transcoding all that well so I wanted to build my own NAS as an upgrade. As OS I wanted to use OMV. Problem is, I can't really decide which platform to choose. first idea: CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 MB: ASRock AB350M Pro4 Netzteil: Corsair SF450SFX RAM: 8GB DDR4 should be plenty Case: Fractal Design Node 304 second: Well practically the same but using a Intel Pentium G4560 and the Gigabye GA-B250;-DS3H third idea: My main PC currently has a i7 4790k which im planing to upgrade in the coming generation(getting those sweet cores ), i could then use that old cpu for my nas, but that would be kinda overkill and no exactly power efficient So guys what do you think of my 3 ideas? Which do you think would suit my use-case the most? Also do you guys know how the ryzen 3 1200 and the pentium g4560 compare power consumptioin wise?
  4. Ok you're right in some games the FPS improvement is decent, but thats rather the exception and doesn't really concern the games that I play most of the time. Also "a little more" highly depends on one's viewpoint... for me 100€ is quiet a bit^^' Nonetheless I thank you for your replies and advice
  5. Got a link to those benchmarks for me? I'd like to see them^^
  6. Wow certainly didn't expect to get any replies so fast ^^ @OAcesync it'd be nice if you could add advice to your statement because just saying that it's bad isn't really going to help me in any way... @Rune yeah it's no 4way sli, not really interested in 4way since I really haven't got the money but at some point in the future I'll probably upgrade to a 2way sli conifg @Senzelian wow thanks for the efforts dude I realy appreciate it btw I am from Brandenburg(a little bit north of berlin) but moved to Frankfurt am Main this wednesday @JAKEBAB I went with the RM series because it got a lot of got reviews on the internet and is not too pricey Last but not least, thanks to everyone that committed their time to help me thus far Edit: I'm not really sure about skylake...100€ more for just some little performance improvement in benchmarks doesn't really seem worth it to me
  7. Hey Guys lately I noticed that my old gaming pc just got too old to even be called a gaming pc anymore....(well not a gaming pc in the first place, just the pc I used for gaming). So I started to look around the market to build a whole new system. About my budget, I don't wanna spend more thann 2000€(yeah €, coming from Germany ). I'm playing games like GTA V, Battlefield or Skyrim(though my old rig was barely able to start GTA V, playing with an average FPS of 14...). I'm planing to start with a single 1440p monitor(since I've got one lying around ), later on I'll maybe upgrad to 2, but not for gaming reasons, mainly for multitasking. The only think left(regarding peripherials) is the OS, I planned to go for Windows 8.1. But enough with the small details, here is the Rig I planned to build. CPU: Intel Core i-7 4790K 4GHz Quad Core Processor CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 13 Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark I LGA 1150 Memory: HyperX Fury 16GB(2x8GB) Black (1866MHz) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB Storage: Seagate 1TB Hard Disk Drive(7200rpm) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980Ti Gaming G1 Case: Corsair Graphite Series 780T White Power Supply: Corsair RM Series 750Watt Full Modular I think I've got everything listed now. By the way, I know the Motherboard is a little overkill but I just don't like the red colour of cheaper gaming motherboards and it had to be a Asus motherboard because of their BIOS, which I really like So now that you know my planned setup, please let me know what I could improve, since honestly, it's the first time that I'm going to build my own pc ^^' Also about overclocking, it will be done(CPU) but most propably not right off the bat PS: Please have mercy if my english sucks^^' only 19 years old and still learning the language
