  1. Found a deal for this motherboard. - ASUS X99-Deluxe/USB3.1 for $239.99, pre-tax. http://www.frys.com/product/8504009?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG My question is that (I was also eyeing the Asus Strix x99 board, MSI x99 Gaming Pro Carbon, and the Asus X99 Deluxe II) is it worth forking over the extra $100-$150 to get a newer generation motherboard, or is the original one I linked fine with no issues (other than updating the bios to support Broadwell-E)? Thanks!
  2. Looking to rebuild to an X99 platform. It was either this or the X99 Asus Strix board. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-X99A-GAMING-PRO-CARBON/dp/B01GIUYPHE/ref=sr_1_1/160-3503911-5412134?ie=UTF8&qid=1473755288&sr=8-1&keywords=x99+pro+carbon CamelCamelCamel
  3. Nah, I don't mess with used/refurb tech. That's just me.
  4. DANG, was lowkey in the market for an iPad. Just my luck.
  5. $100 off is retail? Sure I guess... EDIT: I just went on eBay and it's $229.99 brand new, $179.99 refurbished. This is BRAND new and cheaper than BOTH of those, soooooooooo......
  6. One thing is definitely costs as traditional speakers might need a AMP/Receiver. There are pros and cons though mainly being traditional speakers like bookshelf ones have a better sound stage where as soundbars spread out the sound more evenly. As a broke college student, price is definitely one of my biggest concerns so I can stick with this and when I have an actual job and can afford the nicer things I will look into a full home theater surround setup. Disclaimer: I'm no audio expert, but this is what I vaguely remember reading a while back.
  7. Good stuff. I'm planning to use it with a 50 Inch Vizio 4k TV.
  8. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SMBGGV6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Been waiting for this set to go on sale foreverrrrrrrrrrrrr. Add to your cart to additional $50 off if you are a prime member. If you're not a Prime member it's $199.99 which I still would have bought. Amazon just jooged me though. 9. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Whoops, my bad fam.
  10. Yes, usually the bigger the number, the stronger the graphics cards are. Taken from : http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/best-graphics-performance-july-2016-hierarchy-chart-by-toms-hardware.81325/
  11. I'm a Cloud II owner as well. Nice and comfy and gets the job done. I watched several reviews before on the Void and I vaguely recall them having crap battery life because of the LEDs on them. Roughly 6 hours with LEDs on and 25ish without LEDs on. 6 hours might seems like a long time, but that's not even a day of gaming and you'd have to charge the headset every day, which might be a deal breaker for some (me). Speaking of charging, what really swayed me from the Void was the USB plug on the headset. The port is SOLELY for charging. For the headset to work, you need the dongle so and if whatever reason you wanted to use it with wires, you wouldn't be able to. (This is probably more annoying on wireable wireless mice.) Mic isn't detachable while the Clouds are if you plan on taking them outside the house. Generally speaking for audio, I'd always go with wired just for the quality.
  12. Have fun boys. Wish the white one was this cheap. http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Series-Computer-CC-9011016-WW/dp/B007S02GMA
  13. Actually I'e seen quite a lot of sales for the 5820k brand new for about $320. 6700k's are like $360.
  14. Crazy good deal. Most likely will pick one up tomorrow. http://www.frys.com/product/8363967
  15. OP lives in Aussie. Checked the store that he's buying all the parts from and its based in Australia. Man I feel bad. I live in the states and a 980 Ti here starts at $600.
  16. Wanted to rebuild in a new case so I was wondering if the Hue+ would fit on the power supply shroud of the Enthoo Evolv. The case is supposedly able to hold a standard SSD on the front but the Hue+ is thicker than a normal 2.5 SSD so wanted to see if this config would work or should I be looking into other cases. The NZXT H440 is also on my radar. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854025&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= If anyone has this case with the Hue+ it'd be great to know!
  17. Just bought 2 packs for the hell of it. Kinda hope it ships, kinda hope it doesn't. If anything I can resell it and make money.
  18. I actually have this TV. I bought it for ~$570 brand new at Costco before tax and it's pretty good for quality for not being one of the big boys of TVs like Samsung or Sony. A couple gripes I have are that it doesn't display 4k on YouTube (which is a deal breaker cause its the easiest place to find 4k content) via streaming but it does for Netflix and Amazon Prime video. Just something to keep in mind for anyone who wants to buy this Tv.
  19. Cool, thanks! Would you happen to know if I can still access the old SSD's files with it running as a secondary drive while there's boot files in it?
  20. Hey everyone. I'm currently on W10 (upgraded from W7) which is installed on my current SSD. I also don't want to just clone it over cause of all the random crap in it. I recently purchased a new SSD (850 Pro 512GB) as the old one was getting a little slow and was quite small (OCZ Vertex 3 120gb). I was wondering if I reinstalled Windows on the 850, would I be able to just do it then and there without having to deactivate my current Windows on the OCZ. Furthermore, I still want to keep all the crap on my OCZ as there's other random things like pictures and files I haven't cleaned up yet so will I still be able to access it as a secondary/slave drive even with Windows files installed on it.

  22. Actually that's exactly how it happened, LOL. He didn't realize there was a clip cause it was his first build, haha. I taught him all the in's and out's so it he should be fine now.
  23. Yeah I cringed when he sent me the Snapchat of it. *crying laughing emoji* At least now hopefully I can put it to use even though it's broken!
