  1. I'm planning on purchasing a used think pad and want to make sure I'm not stuck with something locked to a company and be prevented from doing things like reinstalling windows or potentially even using the device. is there something easy to check for when purchasing (in person)?
  2. I'll give it a try then, Thanks!
  3. looking to throw a gtx580 into a core 2 duo pc for a friend's kid I'm just doing this with parts i have laying around, I've got a EVGA gtx 580 and a Corsair VX550w. will the powersupply be sufficcent? i read online that nvidia recommended a 600w PSU
  4. 16tb wd red I bought is making a noticeable hum at idle, when i start writing to it the hum stops. should I be worried and return it?
  5. i can run a aida 64 test and get temps in the high 90's, im pretty sure if a dead pump was the culprit i would not be able to put a load on the cpu whatsoever. also when i was gaming earlier the top of my case where the radiator was mounts was extremely hot. I don't think it would have exhausted that much heat if the pump was dead but then again i can't discern the pump sounds from the fans
  6. yeah i hear noise, i'm assuming it's from the pump and the fans. i also think my temps would be way more extreme if the pump was dead. my motherboard is a MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi
  7. i have a meshify c with the radiator mounted on the top everything should be default in terms of cooler setting as i just reset the bios when i pulled the cmos battery the pump rpm seems normal, as in it goes up when the pc is under load currently at 1959 rpm sitting on the desktop and i used the technique you mentioned when i reinstalled the cpu cooler after putting on new thermal paste
  8. i just got a new graphics card today and installed hw monitor to check it's temps and what not i noticed that my cpu was running REALLY hot, it hit 100 degrees while playing overwatch and i felt massive amounts of heat coming off of the top of the case, to the point where it was almost too hot to touch once i noticed that i made sure everything related to the cpu cooler was connected properly, the whole cooler only has 1 fan cord the radiator fans all have a place to connect them on the radiator, it was on the cpu fan header and i moved it to the cpu pump header. i also reapplied the thermal paste while i had the pc opened up the temps are still very similar so then i looked online and saw something about undervolting my cpu to get acceptable temps. i tried this but the pc wouldn't boot afterward. i had to pull the cmos battery to get it back on. anyway asking here so hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will help me not brick my pc
  9. it was game mode in my MSI dragon center "true color" was enabled
  10. Whenever i launch overwatch it makes all of my monitors change color slightly, it makes them all have a hint more red/orange i first noticed it yesterday and the colors go back to normal when i close overwatch i have windows night light disabled
  11. i have a nhd-15 and it's worked better then 2 aio's that i've had so idk what to say i've had a h100iv2 and a fractal design aio
  12. nh-d15 is better then most aio watercoolers
  13. i have a 60% keyboard right now but i don't like how small it is (or loud) and i was looking at new keyboards but one of the things i would like to be able to do is reprogram keys, can razer keyboards do this?
  14. i had the same issue with my pc for a long time, capping my framerate fixed it for me i think the issue ended up being my power supply because i have since replaced it and no longer have the issue but try enabling a fps cap or vsync and see if you can get the game to launch
