Paytend01 reacted to bakidota in Xl2411z Good Enough for Competitive RL?
LG has one 144hz around the same price don't know how it works tho, been using this xl2411z for 13months now no issues its only that it look awful when you first plug it in so you need to spend a bit of time to change the settings and implement a profile.

I have this one its quite good. Out of the box is garbage, so you will need to find a good color profile on the internet and use it.

Paytend01 reacted to Tiberiusisgame in 1080 or 1080Ti?
First of all.... terrifying forum badge. I almost don't want to respond...
I run a 1080Ti coming off of a 980SLI driving a G-sync'd 1440p and I would go for the Ti. The little bit of extra money will keep you happier for longer.

Alot of people like the Linnmon table top, And there are alot of legs you can choose from as well.
Edit - Some links to linnmon desks.
Linnmon with alex drawers
Just the table top
Cheap legs, but not adjustable
adjustable legs but more expensive.

Paytend01 got a reaction from Glennieboyyy007 in Which keyboard should I buy?
I mean, its not like the k70 is bad. Peripherals are kind of personal preference. If you like the k70, stick with it. If not you can sell it.

Paytend01 got a reaction from Glennieboyyy007 in I want to build this, but I want to see what you think.
IMO I would change to a 7600k, and change the 5400 rpm hard drive to a 7200rpm one. Its like $10 more
Edit - Like this I guess https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bFBwTH

If you're going to go with a decent wood, i would suggest against painting it. Natural wood looks much more better than painted. Varnish wood > Painted

Red Oak is a solid wood to use, Cheap and pretty nice. Another wood that is really cool, but more expensive spalted maple. It looks amazing, but I wouldnt get it if you are going to paint it, wouldnt be worth the money.

Paytend01 reacted to W-L in PC Window, Decal? Or Paint?
Doing a custom vinyl decal or taking off the panel and etching a design into it would be two good options.

You could buy a sheet of vinyl designed to go on glass and then cut out the design you want, or try to find a place that you can upload a design to and have them cut it with a machine. Bear in mind that one-off cuts tend to be pretty expensive and if you're planning on using a trademarked logo, you'd need written permission from the trademark holder as most businesses won't do it without that as it's technically illegal, as they'd be profiting from the unauthorised use of a trademarked logo.
Don't go for paint. It will end up messy and is harder to remove.
Vinyl sheet or something similar. The stuff designed for cars will work, you can also get stuff that's designed to go on shop windows and such. For the most part they're the same thing though.

Paytend01 reacted to W-L in Asus TUF Mark 1 Modding questions
I have a guide here that goes over both General Painting and Plasti-dip, if you go with the spray paint option your going to want to prep the surface by lighting scuffing it and applying a primer before a flat white top coat.
-
Paytend01 reacted to WarriorProphet in Asus TUF Mark 1 Modding questions
I second Plastidip just because it's much simpler to prep, and if flat colors are your thing it does very well IMHO.
