So I recently moved my AMD R5 1600, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb RAM and AMD RX 580 from my ITX LAN computer to my full tower at home. However, once I did that I got this weird fault where the Windows loading icon would finish, but the PC would crash before the login screen. Thing is, the system still posts with all components showing in the BIOS. And even more weird after this happens a few times, Windows will load into its error fixing screen on boot!
Steps I've tried so far:
1. Re-installed Windows on full tower (twice!)
2. Re-seated RAM, CPU and GPU in full tower
3. Moved RAM, CPU and GPU back to ITX system
4. Tried working RAM from my GF's Intel machine in ITX system
5. Tried my RAM in her machine
Both systems (ITX and full tower) very rarely get into Windows but this is less than 1/10 times. I don't think it's the GPU since in the few times Windows loads it runs with an overclock just fine. And since my RAM works in my GF's system and her RAM doesn't work in mine, I'm thinking that it might be the CPU :'( Just wanted to see if anyone agrees with me, or if they've seen anything like this before/can recommend anything else to try before I get the RMA stickers out.
Much appreciation!
