Hi all, I'm wondering what the difference between miracast on windows and on android is? I have a JVC 75X, it supports miracast, but only on android, on windows, it just never connects. JVC customer support tells me that this TV doesn't support windows, is there any work around? a program that mimics android miracast?

Help with deciding the upgrade for my laptop.

as far as i know, opening the device does not actually void your warranty, unless you break something in the process and if the support says any different, you can usually argue with them and they'd let it go -

open up the latptop and measure the length of the slot? there's no reason to swap when you can simply add. -
there's really nothing wrong with VGA, it's just a more bulky connector that doesn't support the higher resolutions.

mx master/anywhere series? wireless means you won't have problems with wire wear, tho you'll have problem with the battery, but they're easily change-able? or get one of those gaming mouse with detachable wires, if it break, just replace it

"The drive, the path, or the file name is not valid" probably means you typed something wrong You can reference this video: TLDR: try this: chkdsk /F /R /X H: change H to whatever your drive letter is -
bump, should I return this unit for another one?

So I upgraded the nvme ssd on my laptop, and bought an external enclosure, asus arion, for the old samsung sm951 ssd. It's the enclosure is connected to my laptop thru a usb c port, the sequentials is more or less what i'm expecting, but the random r/w is just pathetic I remember the random r/w speed being a lot faster when connected internally. Are all external enclosures like this? or do I have a faulty unit?

The IT department didn't set up a VPN, and they're not exactly willing to do things other than maintaining network stability

I'm wondering if it's possible to connect my home desktop to my work router and have the desktop act as if it's a local computer on the work network (like a vpn?) I've seen methods of remote desktop, but I don't have a computer at work that's on 24/7. and I've seen port forwarding, but one port only forwards to one IP. I'm asking because there's a lot of internal databases that I can only query if i'm on the local network. Sometimes I'm working overtime at home on a tight deadline, and if I need to double check some info, I'd have to wait until the office is open at 8 am, which is a huge waste of time when i'm on a tight deadline. and yes, i've asked the IT department, they said it's ok, but won't do it for me. I know this is all possible if i have a PC running 24/7, but is it possible without a always on PC, and just change some configurations on the router?

i have a msi gs63vr and i'm trying to use the type-c port, but it doesn't seem to be reading my drives. i'm connecting my drives to the port using Samsung USB OTG adapter. when plugged in, it detects and shows up as "USB root hub USB 3.0", but doesn't show up in my computer, and i can't access the files on the drive when i plug it into my phone, my phone reads the drive just fine. is my port not working? or is there something i'm doing wrong?

the application in question is age of empire 2 HD, if i try to launch it (Aok HD.exe) directly, it give me an error steam first opens the launcher (launcher.exe), thru the launcher, i press play, which then launches the game (Aok HD.exe) so there's no place i can add "-width 1024 -height 768", if i use a shortcut and direct it to AoK HD.exe, it'd just give me an error. I've also tried to create a man in the middle shortcut, by renaming Aok HD.exe into something else, and create a shortcut, named Aok HD.exe, that points to the renamed Aok HD.exe, but if i do that, game doesn't launch also tried using steam to create shortcut, but that shortcut uses a url format ------ This is why i'm asking if it's possible to modify the 640*480 into another resolution in compatibility mode, as far as i can tell, it's the only way to affect the game resolution, as there's no in-game setting for resolution, and i don't want to manually change the screen resolution everytime i want to play the game
-
i can't do that, as it's an application launched thru a launcher which is launched thru steam, i can't launch the application directly, i've tried various things in steam already, and it doesn't work. what i found is when 640*480 is check, it'll run at 640*480, so i was wondering if it's possible to modify the compatibility option of 64*480 into something else
-
I was wondering if it's possible to modify the options in compatibility mode, specifically the run in 640*480 setting can i do some registry edit or something and make it into another resolution like 1024*768? I mean how the heck uses 640*480 anyways, and since it's able to be set into 640*480, wouldn't a mod/hack be possible to change that resolution into something else?
