  1. It's truly amazing how nature deals with these type of issue and make us survive through out all these time. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2906700/ I found this article in NCBI. Might be a bit old but nicely written and easy to understand. Pretty much tens of thousands DNA lesion happen every day and somehow through the magic of DNA repair mechanism, we don't have to wake up in the morning and discover a new cancer in/on our body everyday.
  2. I believe it's something to do with "telomere" regions of chromosomes. You can look it up for its function. After cell goes through lots of Mitosis (body cell replication), telomere will degrade and eventually chromosome damage will occur which leads to cell inability to correctly replicate (in most cases) and cell death program (apoptosis) will be triggered to prevent faulty cell duplication. In some cases, DNA/chromosome damage might cause the cells to gain super power to infinitely replicate and turn into tumor/cancer instead. If I'm not mistaken, during meiosis, fertilization and embryonic development, there is some kind of mechanism that help cell make/lengthen telomere region of chromosome. There is some study try to understand telomere repairing + elongation pathway/mechanism and turn that knowledge into Anti-aging drug. Interesting topic imo.
  3. How about VE Monk+? (Chinese brand, should be around $ 5-10 Never listen to them personally, not a big earbud fan myself. Heard lots of good thing about this bud though. Might be a hype train but probably worth checking out. http://www.head-fi.org/products/venture-electronics-ve-monk-monk-plus/reviews/15998
  4. Hello guys, I'm looking for a 8-10 inch tablet. Budget ~400USD. Right now the one that caught my eye is Huawei Mediapad M3. Link to the web. Already tried it out in the store, overall I'm quite happy with it. Good build quality, solid performance, the software might not be up to par with IOS but still ok . Just wondered if there is any alternative that fits in the budget and worth considering. I'm open to any platform. Would like to hear some feedback.
  5. How about Phanteks evolv itx? Definitely good looking but not really sure about space saving
  6. Hi guys, I'd like to know which card is better for gaming in 1080p (might upgrade to 21:9 3440x1440 in the future.) Also for photo editing stuff, I use Photoshop CC and Lightroom for most editing. My photo size is at least 24MP, could be a lot larger with panorama. Will R9 390 perform better in this case because of 8GB VRAM? Thanks
  7. LMG editing PC are all windows (pls correct me if I'm mistaken) Well, if I have to make a choice, I'd go with windows+cuatom build PC. Superior hardware, upgradable. Probably better investment for long-term usage.
  8. Those 3.5mm to toslink adapter required a SPDIF port with optical support. You will have to check with your motherboard/laptop/soundcard manual if optical SPDIF is supported. Some SPDIF port is a coaxial only which won't work with those adapter.
  9. Maybe this one? I think HMNsound ships worldwide too. Best Affordable Lav Mic: HNMSound Lavalier: http://youtu.be/fVYxRcSsLPo Ps. I don't know if they still have this model in store or replaced by newer model. You might have to check with the seller.
  10. Probably RE-400 or UM1. These are more balanced sound than Se215. Tried all 3, the one I like most is Westone UM1. For, Hifiman RE-400, it is a tiny IEM, a bit too small for me. Good sound stage with balanced/accurate sound. Some says it's a flat/neutral headphone, some say it's a warm and sweet. For UM1, this is the one I choose after tried all 3 IEMs. This one sounds warmer and smoother compared to others. Less punchy bass which I prefer. Good for vocal/classical type music.
  11. Well, they are pretty bass heavy. Good overall sound but a bit too dark for me. I think they are good for bass and vocal/mid, not so much for treble. If you love bass, go with Se215s. They are one of the best value in that price range. Also, they are super comfortable too.
  12. Other: For Open headphone, I think HD558 + Modmic (or other mic that fits your budget) should be OK for your style. HD558 doesn't really need a sound card or an amp to drive it. Save some bucks and get a better mic. or, you can get a Beyerdynamic DT990 or HD598 too. Those are pretty good for their prices. If you prefer closed headphone, DT770 and Custom One Pro might work for you.
  13. I could find the Grado one for around $18. Look exactly the same as the Audeze one. If the build quality is worth it, I'm gonna get one for sure. Thank you for your feedback
  14. Got that too. I thought it's a trap from NSA spy on the forum Actually that's a good idea imo. Unfortunately, all adapters I could find around my place are straight or solid one. Shouldn't be problem for me though, got plenty spaces on my desk. I think I'll get Grado mini adapter. Don't want to risk damage the connector on o2/odac.
