I'd stick with Audio-Technica M50/M50x. I have had the DT990's and the SHP9500's. The DT990's have a bump @ in high frequencies that hurts and I felt that the metal earcup slides to extend the drivers were not very well designed. The SHP9500's had poor bass response and get very loose in the headband after a few months of use.

You'll need to use drivers that are certified for Server 2016 and signed. If the vendor doesn't offer them you may need to switch hardware or use an older OS.
Link to specifications that do NOT list Server 2016 as a supported OS.

The only down side is that you should use your keyboard or Windows to raise and lower the volume as the POTS on the right speaker eventually get weak causing volume adjustment issues.
It's a constantly sliding window of gear that typically changes every Oct-Dec when new gear comes out. This site does a good job of showing an example. For most, the range in green/yellow is 'main stream'.
