  1. ohh yeah btw, I gave up CS GO, that game seem to be running at 90 - 100 on one singel core, I tough it was supposed to use 3 cores, but I guess I was wrong. So until CS GO get ported to soruce 2, if that ever happens then I am at my peak performance in CSGO I guess, I would like to reach the 300 FPS cap, but I guess that's not possible at this point.
  2. Okai, So I did some more testing after updating to another new BIOS update that came out this week I think for my X370 Motherboard. it seems to help a little bit? I am unsure, how ever, the three pictures here are from my testing in to different games today, the GPU usage and the picture with the lowest amount of CPU usage are from the testing in the game PlayerUnknown battlegrounds, and the last picture is from the game battlefield 1, as you can see nothing is ever reaches 100 usage. Not only that, but the GPU usage was even lower in BF1 then in battlegrounds, it was usuly 25 - 30 % at most 35% also, the flat line on GPU usage was while I was AFK and just had the game running in the menu so it does not run that high on idle if you where wondering btw, I know the pictures are crap, I just did not want to print screen it when in game, I just took a quick photo with the phone while playing. But I have been having some trouble with my Corsair memory, some system freezes once in a while and stuff, well I dont know for a fact that it is the memory yet, but I sendt a mail to AMD with a list off what I had tried and what I had not yet tried and they suggested it could be the Corsair Vengeance memory that they told me they had gotten some feedback from customers with the samme issue, and that I could try some ECC memory or some stuff. I would just go out and buy new memory, it's just that it's not cheap... well, a small update for now, maybe some one else have suggestions for what I could do, and a explanation for the foreign langunge in the last picture I uploaded
  3. I am not sure if correct is selected, I think so? but it is in polish or something? and looks rely strange... I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that, but I imagine it's not. that's the power options or management stuff, it's just in Norwegian because my Windows is the NOB version well, it is already selected so I dont relay know what else to do, but this explains why I got so disponent when I bought the GTX 1060 and did not notice any significant improvements over the 270x,I just thought the 1060 was a horrible card and that I should have bought a 1070 or 1080 right away, but know that I did and its still pretty much the same I understand that there is something else going on here....
  4. OMG, you know what? It was not installed, I did install it again, and it did preform a bit better, but not by much. How ever I cant seem to find out what the recommended power plan for ryzen is, do I need the master software or what ever it is called? I try not to install to many of these types of software, or unnecessary software, but if I need it I guess I have to install it I dont know what I am doing wrong, it's probably something simple. Also, when I run a test in firestrike it seems like it slightly under preformes on the combined test, while the graphics test seems to make the GPU run at full load and the physics test makes the CPU run at full load. So I am obviously doing something wrong. I think..
  5. I belive you are right, I did preform some more testing today. Not on to many different games tough, I dont own to many games. I manage to get it running a bit better. How ever, not by a lot. the GPU never runs higher than 35 % and on average I would say around 30 ish, and the CPU core that run at the highest is about 70 -80 % while no other core except that one, no other core runs at more than about 40 % at most. This is for CS GO and it could have been the case that the GPU would not need to run at higher %, how ever it never reach the FPS cap at 300. most I get depending on map is about 290, but usually stays around 190 - 260 FPS. witch is relay annoying, I bought this card to preform way better then my 270x and end up with minor improvements I am probably doing a silly mistake or cant se something that for someone is a obvious reason why its under preforming.
  6. No its not steady, and I do have a frame limit on some of the games, battlegrounds is limited to 144 and my CS GO are limited to 300 FPS I did unlock it once, but I rather have it lock at 300 and not go above. So thats not the issue in this case, but I figure its one of the most common issues so I get why you are asking
  7. Yeah I did not think that either, thats why I got so worried if I just did a huge mistake buying a 1080, but Sure I can install the ryzen chipset and change the power plan, I tough I already did it, but I have reinstalled windows so many times when fixing some other issues so I am not relay sure if it is installed anymore to be honest
  8. At first I upgraded my system to a Ryzen 1700 with intention of upgrading the GPU at a later point. I did at fist have a R9 270x and because my Elgato requires a nivindia card I went ahead and bought myself a GTX 1060 at first, I did not notice any difference at all in some games on 1080p and only saw a improvement on 4K but I never play on 4K only 1080 or lower. So yesterday I went out and bought the card my Ryzen realy deserves, I did a clean up with the DDU software in safe mode, installed the new card and fresh drivers. Boi am I surprised, there is literary no change what so ever. Not only that but when I monitor both the CPU and the GPU usage they never run on full load, not a single CPU core run at full speed, and neither are the GPU. wth is going on? the highest spike in usage I ever saw was on one core on the CPU at 70% while playing battlegrounds and running something else in the background at the same time, but it was just a short spike and it fell down to about stable 40 % usage again shortly after, same with the 1080, highest spike I have seen so far was like 65% ish, never above. what am I doing wrong? system: 120GB SSD 1TB SSHD 16 GB of corsair vengance currently running 2133(because I have experienced some issued with my DDR4 memory so I just keep it at 2133) Ryzen 1700 (only gaming boost on, so never boost over 3,4. Reason why there is no OC is because some strange issues after OCd that occus after making system hibernate and wake it up again, in game physics gets freaky) Corsair 750M PSU, or a cooler master 750M, cant remember witch one is currently in my system. and yeah, offcourse the GTX 1080 Asus STRIX 8GB card. It should be a fairly good card. Ohh yeah. my previous score in Firestrike was 10900 and after GPU replacement it went up to 17200 so I imaged I would feel the change, but I guess not. I also tough the CPU would not bottle neck the 1080, and if it did not by much, I might have been wrong, but I tough I could expect a much higher CPU usage if that was the case. At the very least on one or more cores. I am frustrated, all I want to do is to make a few games run a bit better + make CS GO run at pretty much constant 300 FPS at 1600 x 900, but hard to do it seems. Is it relay a CPU bottle neck? or might my system acutely have some weird issue. Thanks in advance
  9. I changed the CPU, but I have like 3 GPUs and I've tried them all. That was the first thing I did after I started it up for the first time remember me saying the second thing I did was changing RAM frequency? well the BIOS udate was the first, I knew I could't not run any higher than 2400MHz if I did not update the BIOS. So wanted to do that first And I just checked, still not any newer BIOS for my motherboard yet.
  10. No, I haven't, I change the the RAM speeds was the second thing I did after I got it all working, I guess I can try, but I just think its so strange that the same issue remains on a system with different CPU, different motherboard and different RAM still have the exact same issue. Also the old system was running 2133 MHz, Well so I think, I never changed the frequency on the RAM. But I guess I can try to run it at 2133.
  11. Hey good folks of LTT forum. I just uppgraded my desktop for several of reasons. I used to have: FX 8350 GTX 1060, AMD radeon 270X Samsung SSD 840 250GB FireCuda SSHD 1TB HyperX 8GB x2 RAM I keept the drives after I uppgraded but I formated the C drive and did a clean WIN 10 PRO install on the Samsung drive. but the new parts are: Ryzen 1700, GTX 1060 + GTX 760 Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz 8GB x2 I run the RAM at 2666 MHz or something around there, I tried to run it at 3200 but it failed no suprise there, but I manage to make it work at 2933 or something like that, and it worked fine until I started playing BF1, every time i minimized the game the RAM skyrocketed and the PC got unusable even if I manage to shutdown the game and had to restart, after I turned it down a little more. Also it the system crashed once and that's the main reason why I turned down the MHz. the point is, the system works pretty good, my average FPS are much much better even with my crappy 3GB 1060 card. rendering times are super fast compared to the old system, but there is one issue that I still have. and that is random "freezing" or "stuttering" it feels most noticeable when browsing the web as I can see the cursor not moving at all, all sound still plays but all video stops. I was thinking it could have been the GPU, but it seems to not matter witch card I use. So I was wondering, could it be my SSD? it is very old, but barely used before the last 2 years. and the Samsung software say "Drive condition: GOOD" so I assumed it was in good condition before I bought the parts so I did not want to make the additional cost of buying a new SSD M.2 I am now wondering if that was a mistake not to do. So what do you guys think? is it possible that my SSD is not as GOOD as the software tells me? or do you thing something else are causing this issue?
  12. Okai, I fixed it, it was acutely very simple, I wanted to try it earlier, but I was afraid I could lose my data. I did not there was nothing wrong with sata or power or anything like that, It was just ME, or me being to afraid to do maybe the most logic thing. it pushed the "import external drive" button, but I thought I might lose some data, also it's not relay a external drive, it's very much local. but thank you for your time and trying to help me, I truly appreciate it and sorry for wasting your time on something as simple. I don't know why I didn't do this earlier. I wish that I had a good NAS so I did not have to be so afraid of losing data all the time ohh god, I am a very happy man right now Finely I can work with rendering without it taking me for ever, I can edit vidoes with out having to wait 1-3 minutes for it to load while I am just scrubing trough the video, I can 3D model without to many issues and I have a more than decent gaming experience now and now that I have my secondery drive I can finely put it to the test of all in all of this thing
  13. Yeah, obviously, or else it would show in the device manager. but the power cable aint connected to the motherboard and that's the cable I did not unplug. will do, you might be right, the now motherboard are a bit lager for some reason, I thought they both where ATX but the old one might not be ATX after all so it was a much tighter fit.
  14. I did not mean to push that button, it was by accident, but I am going to check it out like right away ++ other stuff you might be right, but I don't relay care, it says it's genuine, every thing works and are activated and it was way cheaper than buying it from my regular supplier.
  15. I guess you are right, but I am kinda strange. I like to do things the way I learn it the first way. You would be amazed about a lot of strange or inconvenient ways I do thing
