  1. Yes, this seems to be the case. F31 is the minimum required to update further. The board has a dual bios that triggers on its own (unlike my old asus one that had a physical button for it) but people sometimes cant make it trigger. Thanks for the response, I'll wait a bit more to see if anyone else has experience with this board and then probably do it anyway!
  2. Hey Everyone! I have a Gigabyte Aorus x470 Ultra Gaming motherboard. I bought it around the time it came out and i have never updated the bios (I have the F2). I have updated bios' before on intel systems but all with asus motherboards Checking at the notes I read that i have to *Update Chipset Driver* which is easy and **install EC FW Update Tool** with which I'm not familiar with. After that it gets even more vague, from what i get you cannot install the latest bios version right away and i don't want to brick anything. So, do i have to ***Update Version by Version*** but only to ones with the "required" note? F2 --> F31 --> F50 (latest atm) Can someone clarify this? Do i have to install any more versions in between?
  3. Yes it's a very beautiful Mobo why superior feature set ? the extra pcie x16 as i said is useless i had trouble with asrock boads in similar budgets in the past and so thats the only i haven't reached to a conclusion yet as it seemed the best to me too. . . i think that asrock attracts customers with specs and does not conpensate with durability and longevity just like buying chinese phone vs a korean one (and im talking on a tight budget as on high end devices the differences fade)
  4. I'm on a tight budget to build a system and need a relatively cheap but capable mobo. Those two are the only reasonable options in my country. http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z170A-GAMING-M3.html#hero-overview http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/Z170%20Extreme4/ https://www.asus.com/gr/Motherboards/Z170-PRO-GAMING/ http://www.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z170-KRAIT-GAMING.html#hero-overview The asrock has 3 pcie x16 ports (msi has 2) but with z170's 20 and 3-way cfx not being efficient lanes they seem useless. The msi on the other hand has 6 USB 3.1 (asrock has 2 + 6 usb 3.0) which is great plus i trust msi more. . . the msi krait is beautiful and somewhere in between in features and the asus is the most praised one What are the differences on build quality? Any opinions / experience on the boards?
  5. I'm waiting for the new i7 models as they are expected to release a non-extreme 6-core with ddr4 support and save money on both cpu and the mothereboard plus futureproof my system with ddr4 (and save on that to as it will be more mainstream by then)! I heard they will do this early summer! After that, in a year and a half or so, i will get a good gpu as nvidia plans to release hbm-like gpus so both technologies will be accessible and a lot cheaper (especially on the amd side).
  6. Hello, i have this Power Supply (the 700W version) http://www.xilence.de/en/products/power-supplies/gaming-series/gaming-series.html And i was thinking to slowly upgrade my system as it's very old. . . I was thinking of buying an R9 390 first but i dont know if my power supply can handle it I currently use an amd Phenom II x4 955 @4.00GHz and planning to upgrade to something that supports ddr4 from intel but waiting a little as the new products to come are expected to be a lot more promising! If not the 390 will it handle the R9 380? The 390 stretches my budget a lot so i will struggle to afford it. . .
  7. It's the same Stick, just the 1GB version same brand same series same speed and latency!
  8. Yeah, i had 8GB but a 2gb module stopped working and i had a 1gb that i weren't using thus the weird number!
  9. The 370 seems the best solution to me too (if the bottleneck is inevitable) and as with every amd card driver support will render it significantly better than the 750 Ti that has already reached it's full potential! Τhe thing is that i plan to fully upgrade in 6 months and the 380 will be fine for an new system when the 370 will not so i was thinking to give 80$ more now and not just waste 185$ in a soon to be unusable piece of hardware
  10. Hello, I have an old pc with a Amd Phenom II 965 7GB Ram (ddr2) GTX 460 700W Power Supply and i was wondering if my CPU will bottleneck a Potential GTX 960 or r9 380 Specifically the models http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5401#ov (240$) http://www.sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=421F760D-5247-4A25-BA5D-74A7A3139CD7〈=eng (255$) should i go for the GTX750 Ti 2GB Golden Sample instead and upgrade when i can upgrade the rest of my components? http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=925 (145$) will i see any substantial difference?
  11. Hello Everyone, I have been thinking of buying one of the phones in the title (Lg G3 (3gb Ram), Asus Zenfone 2 (4gb Ram) or Meizu MX5) I find meizu mx5 the most beautiful with g3 a close 2nd (mostly because it doesn't have a metal back and its a little thicker) and the zenfone 3 lacking substancially Performance wise i believe g3 is faster but zenfone's 4gb of ram make it more than futureproof and a mutitasking while mx5 seems to be a lot slower. Also i will root the phone get rid of the bloatware and probably change the rom if it's not working for me, so that is not a problem for me Screen is a big thing for me and i believe g3 is a clear winner but the thermal issues dropping the brightness can be VERY annoying to me does it happen that often? Camera performance has me completely confused. I thought g3 had a great camera but f2.4 seems poor with mx5 decent f2.2 and zenfone's impressive f2.0 but lacking laser autofocus G3 seems sharper mx5 seems very good too bus zenfone lacks dynamic range creating contrasty images with either bad highlights or shadows. I have also heard that the g3 lacks battery life. i find all 3 of them in the same price group in my area so that is out of th question. My opinions are based on specs and youtube videos, are the real life results any different? Is the mx5 (My prime candidate) really that much slower (i will not play games on them or maybe extremely rarely rarely so that's not what i'm looking for)? What else do you have to say about them? Thanks for the help in advance!
