  1. It sounds like I'm in the minority here but honestly I would prefer a teardrop notch like what the 6T or PH-1 has. By leaving space between the camera and top that's display you're increasing how much vertical space has part of it that's covered. The difference is minor but if we're already talking about bezel vs notch it is something worth mentioning. While there certainly are people out there like you that have expensive audio gear requiring a headphone jack, the fact or the matter is that that's a very small minority of users. For the vast majority, the loss of the jack isn't that big of a deal, because they'll either just use the built in adapter (and really, the only disadvantage to this is not being able to charge and use the jack) or just buy Bluetooth headphones.
  2. Is that CPU usage as a whole? It sounds like for bo4 you're hitting a cpu bottleneck for sure so that's probably what's limiting your fps. That's probably why changing settings to low doesn't do much because your CPU is the bottleneck. Usually changing settings doesn't make it much harder for the CPU but it does make it harder for the GPU but if you're CPU bottlenecked already lowering settings won't increase fps much. For OW, check to see if one or two cores might be hitting 80-90%+ CPU usage because if that's the case those cores might be bottlenecking.
  3. Are you sure about that? A quick search tells me people have no problems running csgo at 400-500 fps with an 8600k or 9600k. I doubt it would drop below 240 tbh... CS:GO only uses 3 cores anyways so there's little reason to go above a 9600k
  4. Ohh I see. Yeah that should be fine then with the adapter
  5. I'm pretty sure it can do that no problem. Afterall it's just using a partition for caching
  6. I'm not entirely sure what you mean... it seems to me that the M.2_1 would work, no? It does support PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs Do you mean the 970 evo? Just making sure because if you mean the 860 evo that's a SATA m.2 SSD not a pcie m.2 ssd
  7. Honestly if you're playing just CS:GO it doesn't really matter. The difference would be like 400 fps vs 500 fps...
  8. Honestly you'd probably be better off buying an SSD and then using something like primocache to use part of it for caching
  9. Reviews look ok so I'd guess it'd be fine. My only question though would be why? Why not just use an m.2 slot
  10. It mostly looks ok, I just have a few suggestions: For SSD, either get this cheaper SSD or this more expensive (and better) SSD https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XZzkcf/team-l5-lite-3d-480gb-25-solid-state-drive-t253td480g3c101 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6yKcCJ/samsung-860-evo-500gb-25-solid-state-drive-mz-76e500bam As for the HDD, I would personally recommend you spend a little more for a 7200 RPM HDD https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CbL7YJ/seagate-barracuda-2tb-35-7200rpm-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm006 If you're fine with MIRs, this PSU is better and cheaper. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bqVD4D/corsair-rmx-2018-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020177-na Otherwise I'd probably recommend paying $5 more for one of these two PSUs (Focus is a bit quieter and has better protections, but G3 is fully modular and has a little better electrical performance) https://pcpartpicker.com/product/sMM323/evga-supernova-g3-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-220-g3-0550 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KmgzK8/seasonic-focus-gold-550w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-550fm You could also consider getting an rx 590 which would be $30 ish more for 10-15% more performance
  11. That's totally normal. Small increases in load can cause it to ramp up the frequency all the way.

Man, these Zen 2 Rumors are becoming really den…

I doubt a 16 core... If they did a 16 core the vrms on many boards just wouldn't be able to handle it. But 12 core could be possible

Turns out that Great Wall PSU in the Walmart OP…

I always feel like there's a "knowledge tiering" that goes on with knowledge of computer components. At the bottom you have the people who literally know nothing and just buy whatever. Then there's the people that know "You should get a PSU from a reputable brand because apparently bad ones are bad". I feel all the bashing came from these people: they had no idea what "Great Wall" was and so assumed that the PSUs were absolute garbage. The funniest part is I even saw people acknowledging that Great Wall was an OEM behind PSUs like the TXM but they still claimed that this was a completely different Great Wall company even though the logo is the same, lol.
  14. Pulling out my magic crystal ball and it says.... Yes.
  15. I think the trick would be to compensate for the lost jobs with something else (maybe a UBI? Not sure if it's the right solution though). Because if automation is saving the company money and increasing production, there should be excess capital being generated which could be redistributed to the people who's jobs it replaced. That being said, this would require extreme changes to how the government would regulate companies and I'm sure many people would be heavily against such a thing. As you mentioned, slowing down could result in a more gradual change making it so more people would likely be on board with the idea.
  16. I mean, the 6T wasn't really that much of an upgrade over the 6 IMO plus it's not like it made the difference between the 6 and 7 any greater. Big leaps every year is something we've just come to expect with how quickly the computer industry advances.
  17. 2x the perf/$ across the board is nothing to scoff at and is more than we usually expect between generations so I definitely think it's pretty good if true. It has been 3 years vs the normal 2 year cycle but I'd say if this was true it would more than compensate.
  18. Proof that the A12X wouldn't necessarily be a good choice for laptops

Just because it's good at web browsing benchmarks (which make use of Apple's very well optimized JS engine in Safari) and Geekbench doesn't mean it's good for everything, not to mention the issues with running x86 apps on an ARM CPU.

I honestly think it'd be more likely for Apple to make an X86 CPU than put an ARM one in a laptop in the recent future.

  19. I'm a bit skeptical because this would legit mean same performance for half the price but if it's legit ima shit my pants and buy a navi 10 probably
  20. The MX500 uses an SM2258 which uses DRAM. the 2258XT in the BX500 is the DRAMless variant https://www.anandtech.com/show/11764/silicon-motion-roadmap-lots-of-nvme-ssd-controllers In this BX500 review they mention that the MX500 has DRAM built in and that the BX500 uses the SM2258XT, the dramless variant https://www.tweaktown.com/articles/8744/crucial-bx500-ssd-review-fewer-components-lower-prices/index.html
  21. MX500 has Dram, it's the BX500 that is dramless
  22. 15% seems way off. A 580 would be on average over twice as fast lol Also you could check prices for yourself but a 590 may not cost too much more and would probably be 10-15% faster than a 580

That moment when you create a new, much strong…

TBH it wasn't even that complex as the portion I'm having trouble remembering and the only portion I could've possibly forgotten is only about 8 characters. The problem is I can't remember what vowels I used and the order of the consonants... it was some weird made up word and in hindsight I should've written it down.
  24. That moment when you create a new, much strong password and change your google account password accordingly and enable 2 factor authentication then forget part of the password 2 hours later...

The worst part is that since I enabled 2FA I can't immediately reset my password like I normally do. Instead, I have to answer some questions about my account to "help" verify (e.g. personal questions and by sending a text to my phone) it's me before google will take 3-5 days to decide whether or not they'll let me recover it. At least I signed in with my google account on my laptop immediately afterwards so I can still access stuff from there but this means my phone and desktop all can't use my google account for the next few days.

Here's to writing down my password in the future somewhere...

I could use a password manager but I'm slightly afraid that that means one password can get everything. At the same time though I guess that ATM the same thing is true about my google account as it's used to recover passwords for everything so maybe I'll start using one

      PlayStation 2

never make an overly complex password
