  1. Thank you both for the replies, I appreciate it
  2. Hi there! So I have an old(ish) PC that I no longer use due to building a new one, only around 3 months old. I was just quickly wondering if moving that old HDD into my new build would cause me any issues as far as having 2 versions of Windows in one PC if that makes sense? I plan on wiping said HDD clean, so as long as I can boot up with no issues that's all I need, unfortunately I was unsure how to word this on Google to get any useful information. Thank you for any help in advance!
  3. I think I will you know, I'll have to sacrifice getting Halo 5 but I'm sure it will be worth it! I don't plan to do much gaming if I'm honest, aside from the occasional Team Fortress 2 game, it's mainly for recording and editing purposes! I'll be sure to do that shortly, I did think it may be my fan but I wasn't 100% sure myself I just looked up prices for a 6600k and I really don't know if I can justify that money for what I'm using this PC for.. I'm sorry if I've disappointed you!!
  4. Well honestly, I think it may be the fan but I don't know enough to say for positive.. But basically, things I could do a week ago, for example record some gameplay from my Xbox, I can no longer do and I get told that even watching a Youtube video uses 'most of 1 core'
  5. So right now I am using a Intel Pentium G3258 CPU however I need to replace it as it is starting to give me issues. My question is, would it be worth me getting an i3 CPU or just getting a new G3258? I will be getting an i5 CPU in December anyway so right now I'm siding with just replacing the G3258. Thanks for any help/advice, I appreciate it!
  6. I did not know that, I just assumed I'd need as much power as I could put money into.. I will definitely keep in mind what you've said when I go to upgrade or even make a second PC, Thanks!
  7. I do love the AC games, I just don't care for the story anymore. I tend to put more effort into the side missions and such rather than the story anymore Hopefully Syndicate will change this though! Still yet to play Unity..
  8. Is there any reason in particular to get that power supply over my current one? Sorry if this is an obvious point I really am still slightly clueless when it comes to PC parts
  9. I do have an i5 processor in mind to upgrade, I'm honestly not too worried when it comes to gaming with this current build, I'm one of those console gamers you see Thanks for the suggestions though I will definitely look into those GPUs you mentioned
  10. This is my first post so if I've done something wrong, please be nice I've recently finished my first PC build and it's running great, the best PC I've ever owned honestly, and as the topic name suggests I need some advice on what to upgrade first as I did build on a budget. My parts are : CPU - Intel Pentium G3258 Motherboard - MSI H81M-P33 LGA1150 M-ATX RAM - Crucial Ballistix 240 Pin DDR3 8GB ( 4gbx2) GPU - Asus Nvida GeForce GT740 Storage - Seagate Barracuda 3.5inch 2TB x1 PSU - EVGA Supernova 650W G1 Gold Modular Power Supply Cooling - Stock Intel Fan Not the best build around, but for my first build/budget I don't think it's so bad. I should say this, I will be getting more storage as well as an SSD once I have a bigger case, A better GPU isn't a necessity as this PC is mainly for recording not gaming, though I wont turn down any recommendations for one! I think mainly just a CPU upgrade is what I'm after, but why limit myself right? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance! <3
