yes, I checked the Nvidia website https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1050/ > Specs> View full specs Edit: 1050TI in the centre column, 1050 on the right

youre probably right. and which would I choose at that point? is the x better than the 8?

Thanks all for the input this is how I felt at first too, @Crunchy Dragon Can I wireless charge and listen with ear phones at the same time? (while at work at my desk) Note: I'm upgrading from a HTC one M7

looking to upgrade to the iPhone 7 or 8 in a month or two. I cant pick the differences between them as they are both "really fast" and 99% of specs are the same. price is not an issue but $1000aud is my upper most limit here are the links to the site ill purchase from Kogan https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/apple-iphone-7-128gb-silver-apple/ https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/apple-iphone-8-64gb-silver-apple/

I just bought a custom sleeved cable kit but my ATX 24pin is male/male
Fessas replied to iontom's topic in Cases and Mods
you want the cables to suit the power supply end, so you want cables matching the power supply. every gpu and mobo has their pins in the same spot, it is the psu that is different. (learn from Science Studio's mistake) -

@phongle123 means m/m are replacements for your modular power supply cables. but you have to check the pin layout on your powersupply is correct. (not all modular powersupplys are the same pin layout at the powersupply end so these cables may not send the correct voltage to the correct pin on mobo or gpu) -
under the subforum "new builds and planning"... 1. Budget & Location You may have listed a heap of parts that all add up to your preferred budget but it is easier if you just list the total amount you'd like to spend and the currency as well as if you'd consider going above that budget for more performance. We need the location as well because $US are different to $AUD and $CAD ect. 2. Aim What is the system going to be used for? Web browsing, 3D work? Different systems need different levels of performance - a computer based for web browsing and office use won't handle heavy graphic design and video editing and a proper video editing system isn't good for gaming. If your aim is for gaming, please list what sort of gaming. In the same way that different usage types need different systems, you'll need a lot more power to run Far Cry 3 or Crysis 2 than you would Minecraft. 3. Monitors How many monitors do you plan on running? Do you plan on moving to more monitors in the future? What resolution are they at too? 4. Peripherals Do you also need to purchase peripherals such as keyboards and mice as well as monitors ect. Also please tell us if you'll need an OS such as Windows. 5. Why are you upgrading? We ask this because you may see upgrading as the only path to solve an issue but things such as driver updates, reconfiguration or cleaning can boost performance without spending a cent. Please copy and paste the major dot points into your thread as it makes it easier for us to give you better feedback.

DDR3 RAM finished with 4th gen intel cpu's current 8th gen are showing a good time for 4th gen intel cpu owners to upgrade if youre lucky you can find someone selling their 4th gen system and you can pick it up for cheap otherwise youll need to purchase new components
-
the skylake Pentium g4400 reduces the performance of a RX460 (a weaker gpu than the 1050ti)* anything new that's cheap with 4 threads is good Edit: *talking from my own cheap and portable LAN party system

Recommendation for a new laptop
Fessas replied to Ce3JaY_kA0's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
unsure on their delivery costs, but my friend got a pretty good laptop from metabox. http://www.metabox.com.au/store/Laptop-Range Edit: Their Alpha range is their cheapest - http://www.metabox.com.au/store/b218/Metabox-Alpha-N850HJ-laptop- 6 replies

My new 4tb WD Black is making noises, and other fun questions
Fessas replied to Geeku's topic in Storage Devices
Mine does the same, it is SO annoying but they are designed to make noises. I use mine for steam, origin and alike. almost worse than my gpu whine -
I run a r9 390, but I am unsure what Radeon Software Crimson ReLive is called under windows program removal. Maybe find the download online and do a custom install, rather than express and if it asks to keep any settings, do not keep any current settings. Edit: I believe the download is found at http://www.amd.com/en/technologies/radeon-software

clean install of Graphics driver

As enderman said Programs show the correct speed. and dual channel is usually slots 1&3, and 2&4 which is why the screen says dimm1 and dimm3
-
custom fan profiles are customised to suit the pc user.... do what you suits you, less noise? less heat? worst case set it linearly at (0,0) and (max temp ur comfortable with,100) Edit: you could reduce the noise by stepping and holding the rpm for longer but then between large steps you can get annoyed by the fan speed changing
-
i was thinking the same... find a quieter card... but its not really worth the money i spent on the 390 to throw it away if it still does what i need. upgrading would be too costly to go to a 1070 or better for the savings i got atm Edit: Savings = money in bank account
-
i found my stock profile to be best for noise to performance. and overclocking didn't get me much cos at the time the 390 was too much for most 1080p games at 60fps
-
the temperature is perfectly fine, nothing to worry about... as long as you know your card isn't throttling clock speeds for what ever reason at that temp (is shouldn't be) Edit: If it is throttling then you would want to make a custom fan profile which makes it spin 100% earlier
-
100% is real loud! I don't have ears for it. but yes at 100% 75C was about what I got too
-
I used to use MSI afterburner. global wattman only lets you have a fixed rpm
-
i have a Gigabyte r9-390 (stock clocks and fan profile) and it enjoys getting fairly toasty. I choose my graphics settings to suit my noise (and heat) preferences. I can play runescape at lowest settings and I get about 70C (which the fan isn't too noisy) and at ultra settings it runs peaks at 82c it also increases my case fan RPM making things quite noisy. when I first got my card, any game on ultra settings it was running around 82C peak and would not go higher unless I increased fan profile which was too noisy for me. Edit: In summary, its normal
