I noticed the other day that I seem to get a constant appearing and disappearing "safely eject hardware" icon in my taskbar, it flashes so quickly I can't click on it, I narrowed it down to being affected by the powered USB hub I have (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00SCX6I8A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1) when I open device manager that also refreshes but less often maybe every 10 seconds vs every 5 seconds for the taskbar.
the powered USB hub only has a mouse and a webcam plugged into it so I doubt it's drawing too much power from its dedicated power supply. when I unplug it from the PC all the refreshing stops until I plug it back in. I hear at random intervals through the day (maybe once a day) that a device is unplugged and plugged back in so I assume the USB hub is just taking too long to "refresh" and the system thinks it's disconnected. because shortly after I hear the chime for disconnecting I also hear the chime for connecting the device
(I have a new USB cable for the device on its way to me now just in case that is the cause)
I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and if so, could you remedy it?
