Avcn42 reacted to igormp in Brazilian Consumer Protection Agency question Netflix Password Sharing scheme.
Yup, agreed on that, a possibility is that absolutely nothing happens too. Still, the investigation is valid nonetheless.
Sure, two links that I found:
    https://flixpatrol.com/streaming-service/netflix/subscribers/by-value/#list
    https://www.comparitech.com/tv-streaming/netflix-subscribers/
The problem there is the grouping. US is the largest market whereas Canada is almost insignificant in comparison, but when you sum up US+CA+MX you get a really large number.
Same goes for EMEA, each country has less subscribers than Brazil, but their sum goes way past the one of SA because the other countries apart from Brazil in SA aren't that big.

Remove Brazil and LATAM numbers will be close to nothing 😛

I usually see Americans being bad at geography (which is also a classic meme) and that's what I hinted at with irony. Your English is pretty good, but that was not the point.

I really wish they'd call them RX 7900 and RX 7900 XT instead.

Seems far more intuitive to add the suffix for the top one and remove it on the one that's a tier lower.

XTX just makes it sound so redundant and unnecessarily ""complicated"".

Sure, but to most customers, that matters far less than a comprehensive, easy to promptly understand lineup of new products.

They could've found out a better, more discrete way to salute the enthusiast who stuck by enough to get that reference. Hell, 7900 and 7900 XTX would be fine by me too.

Avcn42 reacted to igormp in Brazil bans charger-less iPhones and fines Apple
I miss when phones used to come with cases, headphones and chargers, the phone I bought this year just came with the phone itself and a USB-C to C cable.
    Hi, I live in Brazil.
    Yes, they do.
Some people have different priorities than you, and some of those are also stupid.
Samsung tried to do this here, saw that it wasn't going to play well with our justice system, then started giving away chargers for anyone who bought a new phone that didn't come with a charger in the box.

They didn't lower the price for the new phones without a charger tho, and I bet it also won't increase if they do start bundling the charger back, so it just worked as a way to increase their profit margins.
They weren't fined, just notified, and only started including the charger for some niche models (Z fold and flip), the S22 lineup still doesn't come with a charger and you need to request those from their website after purchasing a phone (I had to do that with mine).

There is nothing to do with price nor polution here, but reasonable expectations about a class of products.
Just like you expect appliances to come with wires pre-installed, computers to come with chargers, phones need to be sold with chargers.
Even toys and remote controls need to be sold with included AA/AAA batteries, for example, otherwise it is considered a married sale, which is prohibited by the law.

If it was a DIY product, the reasonable expectation would be completely different and the charger would not be required.
Framework for example sells individual components that can be used to build a working laptop, but they can't be expected to include a charger for each piece.
On the other hand, when a complete laptop kit is sold, be it assembled or disassembled, it would need to include the charger, because that is expected of a complete laptop.

    My thoughts
Maybe I just don’t get it. Strange assets sell for huge money to the ultra rich all the time. In this case however I just cannot get my head around anyone wanting this. It is to my eyes, insanity and more of a comment on just how strange our world has become. It will probably mean other posts will end up for sale though I doubt any will reach this kind of value.

Thanks for the help! I'm not sure if there's any difference between the two models fans, but I do think they're indeed the same. Maybe it was supposed to ramp up to 3000 rpm, other eagle owners could tell how theirs run with the stock bios. I'm not particularly worried about the lifespan of the fans since I doubt that would become an issue any time soon at all, I'm only worried if they're being pushed beyond what they're rated for, since that could potentially cause premature failure. I plan on keeping them at full speed since the memory reaches 100C at lower rpms. That is my primary concern.

My 3080 also isn't a particularly good overclocker. Well, actually it does clock fine, the problem is the cooler isn't capable of keeping up with the clocks and voltage. Again, like you, my choice was constrained by what was available at the time. However, I was able to push the clocks a bit further (maybe 70-80MHz on the core) by following this guide: https://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/nvidia_rtx_3080_oc_guide/ Perhaps you could give it a go and se if it will work out for you.

Just going to quote myself from 2 years ago:
On top of that, he is (or at least used to be) extremely ignorant when it came to computers. I cringed so hard when he interviewed that person from AMD about Zen, and he didn't even know what a die shrink was or how using smaller transistors affected power consumption/heat/performance.
I remember feeling bad for the AMD employee because you could tell he thought Elric's questions were idiotic.

It's a shame that he is depressed and wants to kill himself, not saying anything about that, but I don't get how people can like him.

Edit: Seems like he hasn't changed during these past 2 years either. I looked him up on Twitter and wouldn't you know it, here is a tweet from earlier this month where he tells people he "hope they die a horrible death" because his package got lost in the mail.

Avcn42 reacted to astrosheen in Average vs peak temperatures while gaming
The reason there is a difference in those temperatures is the GPU. The GPU will be dumping a lot of hot air into your case which I'm guessing is sent out the top through the h115i heating it up a bit on the way. They are both important in their own way but I would care more about the 66C as if that rises towards 80 then you could be heading towards 90 under cpu and gpu load. Overall those temperatures are perfect and to be expected and completely safe so no worries really

Avcn42 reacted to astrosheen in Average vs peak temperatures while gaming
Temperature spikes have been increased since Intel stopped soldering the IHS to the CPU. The temperature spikes are due to how fast the CPU's run and the rapid changing in the CPU voltage and utilisation and where that utilisation is occurring. Some parts of the CPU produce more heat than others.

    Avcn42 got a reaction from jasonvp in 2160p 60hz vs 1440p 144hz gsync
Not at all. I have to run some resolution scaling (135%) on Battlefield 1 at ultra 1440p just so the game doesnt go above the G sync limit which is 144Hz, that's how stupid powerful it is.
I just upgraded from a 1080p 60 Hz screen to a 1440p 144Hz G sync one, and G sync is far from a waste of money. I can actually see the frames being displayed, no tearing, no v sync input lag, feels great, I would never ever go back. Free sync does the same for cheaper though.
