They are high priced because they are quality items. I have the 40 OZ water bottle and legit its easily worth the $30 I paid for it if not $40. Literally at the end of my work day there are still Ice chunks floating around even if the bottle has been left sitting in 100°F Heat in direct sun for like an hour.
 
Its the most amazing insulated bottle I have ever had. After sitting in the sun it will burn my hand but then take a drink and its Ice cold. Simply amazing engineering.
 
Ive also got a couple shirts - incredibly comfortable and well made with emblems that don't fade.

The price of the Screwdriver is fair for the quality.
It cost me more for the Snap-On equivalent and the LTT one is better in a lot of aspects.
I'll be buying the stubby when it releases
 

Can someone here please refer me to a company that doesn't want my money? I only want to buy or subscribe to products and services from companies that don't want my money. Who cares if I would enjoy a certain product/service or not. If it's from a company that wants my money I'm not going to spend my money on it.

Guys, regardless of what happened the merch is quality. Floatplane, sure, thats just wasted money. But the Merch is very nice at LMG.
 
Look guys, the main point from GN was that LMG is producing videos way too fast and the reason thats bad is because the entire point of the channel was founded upon the idea of tech reviews so getting the reviews wrong is undermining the channel's entire existence.

I just bought a refurb 2021 HP Probook 630 G8 for less than half the price of something new. I opted for a memory upgrade to 16 GB. 
Haven´t used it too much yet but it feels solid.

Pick up an off-lease or refurbished business-class laptop like a Dell Latitude or a ThinkPad. They're solidly built, generally easy to upgrade, and parts are readily available and inexpensive.
 
I've had a Latitude 5480 as my daily driver laptop for a few years, it has a 1080p screen, and it's been rock-solid. It's no gaming powerhouse, but you said you have a gaming desktop so it doesn't have to be. I'd go for at least a 5490 though, since they have official Windows 11 support. (Assuming you're going for a four-year degree that something to consider, since Windows 10 support will end before then.)
 
I recently bought a Latitude 5290 and a Dell part number 0R7CW8 power bank to go with it, as a mobile SDR station / camera card dumping ground for the bike rides I keep telling myself I'm going to go on at some point. I think the laptop was something like $120 and the extra battery was about $40.

I've been through a similar thing. My company has 180 FTE rightnow and it has been a real challenge for me. On the one side I would like to continue doing the things I love todo which has made my company so big but on the other hand I have 180 people who depend on me to keep things running smoothly which takes up alot of my time and energy. Now I'm older I'm starting to notice that I just can't do everything anymore, I'm just too tired. It's alot more then it used to be and I don't have the energy anymore. Although it was a real moral boost for my employees I just can't go down to the production floor and start helping there when we are missing a person.

People who have never hired workers (even just 1 person) do not realise how time consuming, costly, just everything humans can be. I used to think HR departments are stupid but now I can understand why big companies have a complete seperate department. Humans are just so annoying, they never do what you want them todo, they are so unreliable and the constant nagging and childish behaviour! Oh my god, the stories I have of just sitting there and thinking: "really, this is what you had to bother me for! You are a full grown person just figure it out and stop bothering me!".

I decided to go the other way around. I've decided to focus on the managing, take on new tasks and new challenges. For me it was a slow realisation process and just letting go and truting others todo a as good or even beter job. Why am I doing this or this, when I'm paying that person todo that for me.

In your case I can understand. You are the face of your company, you just cant stop producing videos and start focussing on management. I think in the long run this is the best sollution for your company and for us as your fans and viewers.

I think he made the intelligent decision to not take the money. As he said in the video, with that kind of money would he buy a bigger house? A faster car? Make it so his kids and their kids never work a day in their life? That's not winning. That's a curse.
 
People often think the dream is to get FU money and never work again. But the true dream is to find a job you enjoy and make just enough money to live in comfort. Seems to me Linus has figured out the secret to happiness and it's NOT more money. He's smarter than many people twice his age.

I really hope the first words in the new CEOs video is "I'm firing colton" just to keep with the meme alive

Just replaced it with Noctua NH-D15 and i'm getting 20c idle as opposed to 40c with the H100i V2.

Well, this is great news (depending on how you view it ofc, I'd like to here what you say if you disagree), Facebook has had its first sequential decline in the number of users. Reasons include, I don't know, facebook losing its relevance to younger generations and people generally becoming aware of its rather not great user data policies. Well, the fewer people under Meta's hold the better, and apparently they're sinking more money into the Metaverse. That said, this isn't going to kill them in any way yet, only about a million people out of 1.9 billion has left and they've still made about 40 billion in profits. Here's to Meta's downfall.
