  1. In that screenshot I had a program running that was using about 17gb so that's why it was so high, but the problem remains that if I were to go in the details tab after the screenshot and add up the ram usage of every process listed, it would only add up to probably 19-20gb even though 22 is shown as being used. Looking into it I think the problem might have to do with memory leaking.
  2. Alright yeah I've heard that term memory leak before, I'll look into that. As for why it matters, I keep finding myself at like 90% ram usage doing the same stuff I've always done where ram usage used to be only like 60-70%, and I'm not sure why it says /61.0 GB committed as I only have 32gb of ram in total.
  3. Lately it's seemed like my ram usage is higher than it should be. I've noticed doing simple stuff like browsing with a few tabs on chrome with no other applications open usage would be like 6-7gb, but if I add up the ram usage of every process in task manager it'll only sum up to like 3gb. I tried restarting and afterwards without doing anything ram usage was already at 3.9gb but again if I added up every process shown in task manager, it totaled to only 1.9gb. And that disparity gets worse the more I open an close applications, for example opening video editing software ram usage grew from 3.9gb about 6gb even though task manager showed that app only using 1.6gb ram. Then closing the app instead of ram usage returning to what it was, it was now idling at 4.1gb usage. So I've been in situations where if I haven't restarted my computer in a few days, idle ram usage could be as high as like 10gb, where as the ram usage shown by processes in task manage sum to much lower than that. Any info on what's going on and any possible fixes is much appreciated.
  4. Hmm mine's not g-sync but I tried turning them off and then back on in the same order you said, 144hz first then the other two, and so far no cutting out so it looks like that might do the trick. Thanks for the info!
  5. I Just got a 144hz monitor and ever since I plugged it in I've been having this issue. Where my second monitor, which is 60hz, will just cut out to black randomly for 2-3 seconds and then come back. Sometimes it'll only happen once every 5-10 minutes, other times it'll happen every minute or so, particularly if I'm playing a game on the 144hz monitor. I do have a third monitor that is also 60hz and it runs fine, no cutting out if that indicates anything. Also in case its important this is the hardware and how its configured: gtx 1080 in sli all displays plugged into the top card Monitor 1 2560x1440@144hz plugged in via displayport Monitor 2 3440x1440@60hz plugged in via displayport (the one that cuts out) Monitor 3 1920x1080@60hz plugged in via DVI (the one that works fine) So far I've tried I've tried changing cables, switching ports, reinstalling drivers, disabling sli, but none of that seemed to do anything.
  6. I'm looking at getting a new monitor and I'm torn between these two: NX-EDG27 https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-27-Inch-FreeSync-Certified-Range/dp/B071G6MYMW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1516712106&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=144hz%2Bmonitor%2B1440p&th=1 XB271HU https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N11QIYW/ref=psdc_1292115011_t2_B071G6MYMW?th=1 It mostly comes down to the first being IPS but the second has G-sync (I'm running nvidia hardware). With my current monitors, one is ips and the other is tn. And seeing how much better my ips monitor looks would make me want to get the NX-EDG27. Where as g-sync I've never experienced, so I'm not sure if its worth giving up IPS for, also with the games I play I'll always been getting high fps so does g-sync matter as much at that point? Thanks
  7. Good point, I think that's that I'll do. Thanks!
  8. I think you should get the big one, I don't think the resolution won't be an issue. And it'll only take one case of "dang I wish this was bigger" with the pro 16 to make you regret not getting the 27 inch.
  9. Hey so I'm torn between which model of cintiq to get, I can't make up my mind its driving me crazy. I'm looking at the Cintiq Pro 16 and the Cintiq 27 QHD. So for the most part the hard decision making comes down to the QHD being way bigger but the Pro 16 being higher resolution (and then there's obviously the price difference). I'd be using it for 3D animation and drawing. My thinking for the QHD is well obviously because its big, I think this will especially be beneficial with 3D software where there's a lot of ui elements and floating windows, on the other hand I'm worried 1440p over 27 inches won't be high enough resolution for doing subtle movements. Then with the Pro 16 basically the opposite, I think the way higher DPI will be great for small details, but that 16 inches won't be big enough in some cases. I've never owned a cintiq before so I'm not sure what aspects of the screen are most important. So just based on what I've said so far I'd be inclined to get the QHD, but there are two other things that crossed my mind. One being the pro pen 2 that comes with the Pro 16 vs the older pen that comes with the QHD, do the new features like the 8192 pressure levels make it noticeably different? And the other thing being the QHD came out over 2 years ago and I'm afraid right after I buy it Wacom will announce a 4k version of the 27 QHD and I'll be stuck with the 1440p version. Is that a possibility or am I completely off base? Any input is appreciated thanks!
  10. Yeah I'd say screw building a whole new machine and just get like a gtx 1080. way cheaper and you'll be able to stream just fine. Not to mention you'll get wayyy better performance than a system with a better cpu and a 1060. Not to mention assuming you have your cpu overclocked you wouldn't be upgrading really in terms of single core performance with a ryzen cpu.
  11. you didn't mention what GPU you have but have you tried encoding on the GPU with the NVENC H.264 encoder? it'll put like a 5-10% load on the gpu so you might see slightly lower fps in games, but I find preferable to the having the load on the cpu which in my experience even with a higher core count can cause lag spikes to happen occasionally. And I'd imagine if you're gaming/streaming at 1080p and you have like a 980 or 1070 or above you won't even notice the frame rate difference. And if the frame rate difference is noticeable its much cheaper to upgrade the gpu than buying a whole new system.
  12. Ah alright thanks that helps clear things up. Do you think 16 inches could be limiting in anyway? would it be worth giving up the higher rez and next gen features for the extra screen size of the Cintiq 22HD?
  13. So I'm looking at buying a pen display. I assume Wacom has the best displays and particularly 16 inch cintiq pro model seems to me the best for the money. I've never owned or even tried a pen display before though so I wanted to ask if there are any better options out there? Thanks. also as a side note, why tf is wacom's biggest most expensive model 1440p while they have another model that's like half the size and half the price that is 2160p
