Honestly, AFAIK there aren't many 75/TKL hotswaps available right now ... you either: Go with a cheap prebuilt 75% or barebones https://kono.store/products/kono-84-keyboard; Spend significantly more (and wait longer) for something like this or this Step down to a 65% (which has a lot more kit options) As far as I can tell there aren't any 75% hotswap keyboards that are similar to GMMK Pro (ID80 was the alternative, but it's out of the question) and available soon-ish, it's right in the middle of the market without good alternatives

You can get fairly decent mics from Chinese brands like Maono, Fifine: https://www.tokopedia.com/teknociti-com/maono-xlr-mic-condenser-studio-au-pm360tr-recording-microphone?src=topads https://www.tokopedia.com/triple3music/fifine-k669b-mic-condenser-usb-mic-gamers-mic-youtuber-triple3music?src=topads

I mean, there was no way Huawei was ever going to succeed in building their own entirely new OS. Unless it did something massively better than the incumbent mobile operating systems, it would never penetrate the Western world. Well I'm sure if you pressed Google, they would admit it was a fork of WebKit. Huawei here is straight up quoted as saying "it's not a copy of Android"

From 2H2021 TSMC will be producing Intel CPUs on 5nm (and beyond)

On first impression I'm skeptical and highly doubt this, but who knows I guess it could be true? -
Update 28/12/2020: Turns out the way the hard drive was mounted to the hard drive cage was the issue and not the PSU. The screws at the bottom of the H510 hard drive cage was touching the PCB of the hard drive and causing a short, triggering the PSU's short circuit protection. Mistake on my part, but the H510 HDD installation instructions aren't very detailed (they literally just show you a single picture of the blown up HDD cage showing where the screws go). Dead hard drive later (though I managed to get a replacement), my PC is up and running! Wow what a journey trying to diagnose the issue!! Yeap, so I've tried testing the PSU with the paperclip method (connecting pin 15 and 16), ensured that I've turned hybrid mode OFF to see if the PSU fan spins and connected the hard drive to see if it will spin up but to no avail. PSU fan does not spin nor do I hear the hard drive spinning or feel it vibrating.
-
I'll try the paperclip method
-
I might do that, but I don't think that's the issue here since no fans are spinning at all, it seems there's no power going through anything right now. Now that I think about it, once I press the power button the hard drive in my system doesn't even have any audible sound of spinning up. I'd also really like to swap it out but this is the only PSU I have so I don't know how to go about this

Hi guys, Just built a PC with the following parts: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor Purchased For $319.00 CPU Cooler be quiet! Dark Rock Slim CPU Cooler Purchased For $89.00 Motherboard MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard Purchased For $249.00 Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Purchased For $239.00 Storage Western Digital Blue SN550 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For $141.00 Storage Toshiba P300 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Purchased For $135.00 Video Card EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB XC3 ULTRA GAMING Video Card Purchased For $949.00 Case NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case Purchased For $139.00 Power Supply Cooler Master V Gold V2 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Purchased For $135.20 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $2395.20 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-12-23 17:41 AEDT+1100 After pressing the power button (making sure power supply and the outlet is switched on), there is only a flash from all 4 EZ Debug LEDs and some of the chipset heatsink LEDs. I've already tried reseating the power connectors (both 24 pin motherboard and 8 pin CPU connector), front panel connectors, turning it on via the power switch pins instead of the button and reseated the RAM. This issue replicates whenever I turn off and on the power supply and press the power button again. Video of the issue: I have unplugged the GPU power cables just to try and isolate the problem. I'm starting to think there is something going on with the power supply, not the motherboard since it lights up momentarily each time.

The reviews of the M1 MBA and MBP are pretty incredible Not only are the products amazing, but this release will ultimately push more Windows ARM laptops as ARM software support becomes more widespread. Rosetta's performance is insane, it's a whole compatibility layer not just an emulator

I was wondering what he was up to since I haven't seen him on YT for a hot minute. I still remember the ads he did with Kyle (Bitwit), they were really good

does apple switching to arm benefit other devices?
Soppro replied to mahyar's topic in General Discussion
Undoubtedly, yes. Apple bringing ARM to their desktop OS and attracting users to perform tasks that need a laptop using ARM hardware will undoubtedly spur significant ARM developer support in general. Though, the real significance of Apple's decision probably won't be felt or known until a couple years from now. -
Aside from fixing their manufacturing woes, they need (and probably are working on) a significant architecture shift. Another clean sheet design or significant redesign of their Core architecture. AMD has been able to make such drastic improvements gen-on-gen because they have a much newer architecture and Intel needs to do something to get back up to speed. Perhaps Alder Lake will bring that, but who knows how that'll go.
-
Considering the entire M1 package as a whole, with this level of performance, ARM has taken its first substantial development in challenging x86. We've yet to see how it actually performs, but this can very well be the first ARM laptops people will actually want to buy and use. I think that's insane and it's going to be spicy to see how Intel and AMD will combat this.

I guess they're going to start DMCA'ing every screen and audio capture tool as well since they can record YouTube music videos, what a bunch of pricks.

Apple finally enters 5G - iPhone 12 + homePod mini announcement
Soppro replied to williamcll's topic in Tech News
It was well produced and while I think some of the features were a little mundane, I don't think it was a mess at all. My definition of an absolute mess would be Google's event .. -
You're gonna be waiting for a bit - AMD R5 5600 Rumored to arrive next year
Soppro replied to williamcll's topic in Tech News
Kind of disappointing, would've wished they launch the 5600 preferably before the end of the year -
Dell Outlet, their refurbished monitors are excellent and you can find some pretty good deals

Three times the charm - New AMD CPU announcement + big Navi Teaser

I hope they don't spend too much time ducking around and launch the non-X variants sooner rather than later, preferably before 2021 -
Scalpers Sell $1200+ Preorders of GeForce RTX 3080
Soppro replied to Shizzmoney's topic in Tech News
Why is there like 3 threads about this ... it happens every launch, no one should be surprised -
If anyone wants to know how it scales with PCIe 4.0: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-pci-express-scaling/

Not bad at all, I kind of like that they deviated from their previous simplistic designs. I'll be reserving judgement of RDNA 2 until we have a good idea of its performance
