  1. Alright. So is reliability Not really a problem if you get a cheaper mobo? I assume as long as you go for solid state capacitors you should be fine, correct?
  2. I'll do some research on the two cards. I'm a bit iffy on weather to go with AMD or Nvidia because of all the stuff I get from the fanboys on both sides. Not calling you a fanboy. And as for the heatsink, I just feel more comfortable going with a better cooler to possibly extend the lifespan of the CPU. It's cheap enough. And I was told by someone irl to get an i5 as well, so I think I will do that. And what are you saying about the mobo? Are the expensive ones only meant for overclocking? I just thought they were safer because of the higher quality power management.
  3. That is a nice build, just not what I'm going for. I took a few parts from there. I think I'll save a tiny bit and go with this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CQZgdC . Thoughts? And for the compatibility note, I believe the case can fit that heat sink. Thoughts?
  4. Right now I'm trying to save as much money as I can for college expenses. Once next semester actually starts, I will know how much money I have left over. Right now though, I could spend a maximum of $700 USD. Here are my PCPartpicker lists. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/NikonJR/saved/
  5. So there's a possibility I won't have enough money to pay for a whole new computer, so I'm thinking of using a desktop my mother doesn't use and putting a gtx 970 in it. I found a card that fits in the case, but there is no psu in the desktop; it uses a power brick that connects directly to the mobo. So I found a micro atx psu that would fit at the bottom of the case, and it has a 6 pin pci power plug, but the gpu uses a 8 pin plug, so I'm planning on using a 6pin to 8pin adapter. Now here's the problem. I would have to use the bridging green to black trick to turn the psu on to supply power to the gpu, and in turn that would supply constant power to the gpu, which is probably bad. I wanted to ask you guys if you had any suggestions or alternatives. 12. So I guess sticking with a 2TB WD Black is best?
  13. The sale will end by the time I buy. Besides, I don't plan on writing to it much. Update http://pcpartpicker.com/p/93Jx3C
