  1. Uber is a terrible company. There is one instance after another where their CEO did some asshole maneuver, or uber has been involved in sketchy business/legal practices
  2. Depends on the use. 1700 for video rendering and streaming,1600x for gaming.
  3. I would recommend against backing files up to your private home server. Home networks aren't designed with enterprise security in mind, and you wouldn't want to risk customers data. Instead, look into cloud services like crashplan.
  4. Rumors about ddr5 are claiming that the specification will be released late 2017 to early 2018 and that it will reach market by 2020.
  5. Its more than likely coil whine; not much you can do about it. What PSU do you have?
  6. I would get a 250gb-500gb ssd for daily programs, and then get another 2tb HDD for bulk storage. You wouldnt notice the increased speed of an SSD on most files, making it a terrible value. have you looked into RMAing your old drive? Many hard drives have a 3 year warranty.
  7. This system doesnt make much sense, whats your budget and uses? Ram should not cost more than your CPU

  9. Direct3d 11 - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ff476080(v=vs.85).aspx
  10. It's isn't to my knowledge. Several users claimed to have clicked the remove formating button after I requested, to no effect. Ussually, pasted text takes the appearance of black text with white highlighting as well, not dark blue text.

Out of curiosity, how? I was under the impression that windows automatically obliterated the target drive.
  12. Not entirely sure if this is a bug, but I have noticed more and more topics being posted in a very dark blue font that is near impossible to read on might theme. Changing theme to day theme reveals plain black text, and OPs have claimed to remove formatting and the text remains unreadable. Some screenshots - (faulty) (Normal) While I get that many font colors are inherently difficult to read on night them, generally the color carries across on both themes (dark blue in night = dark blue on day). This seems like an instance where normal black font is being rendered as the blue despite no font formatting being applied. Platform is iphone safari, will check on my pc later tonight.
  13. Beginning to think this is a bug, seeing it more and more and on day theme the text is black
  14. Often time laptops have a hardware button to control led back lighting. Check the function row. Also check UEFI (BIOS), there is often a setting.
  15. Fix your font for not them users (remove text formatting)

You can by flashdrives nearly everywhere: hardware store, grocery stores, drugstores, etc. there really isn't a way around it.

No. Flash dives are like 10$.
  18. I use the k70, it is excellent. Stay away from razer.
  19. So you ripped blu-rays into your plex server and you want to create backups of the content? Just use an e-hdd?
  20. Well usually you would have a dedicated server always running. You could set them up on timers, but I'm not sure how it remote start it securely.
  21. I would uninstall chrome, making sure to remove all undesired extensions before. Run adaware, MB, and manually remove all unrecognized programs from the programs list. Restart and reinstall chrome.
  22. You will make way more money getting an actual job. I would advertise as repair rather than building, I have fixed several friends and neighbors systems and they have recommend me to others. The niche for custom built is so small.
  23. Make it here - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO you can either purchase a key direct from Microsoft after you install, or purchase one from r/MicrosoftSoftwareSwap or kinguin.
  24. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GsTrXH made a couple edits. Why why are you paying $180 for an os??? Do you even need windows 10 pro? Also, don't buy a USB copy of windows, you can make the USB installation for free very easily. You can also purchase a key from a grey market site for about $30 or get it from Microsoft for about $80
