  1. how about tricking it to get a permanent bacon smell while doing whatever you want ^ ^ otherwise it might be nice in games like witcher3 ... smelling those drowned people, dockworkers or the air while riding or the smell of burning planes and kerosin in warthunder
  2. you could just buy the components you need and give it a try, "only" 140bucks i'd try it if it doesnt work you could still send the ordered parts back within 14days and get your money back ( buy and return within 14days without having to tell anyone a reason is a great thing for customers, not the sellers )
  3. hands down, you did a great job just to compare the price/perf sold my almost 10year old intelcoreduo rig for that price
  4. you could try getting a higher budget with the linusmediagroup tested methods like selling berries or mowing lawns
  5. i´d control the harmon kardon from pc too i guess anything has a better quality than the current speakers... and stereo is ok loved the ad of the SH urbanite .. dont know what their marketing did there but its unique ... must been stoned when i had to choose last time i went the sennheiser way but beyerdynamics will be the way this time i guess the mmx is great, like your review on yt @ShadowCaptain both will be used on my asus z97 ar onboard sound do i need a Y adapter/hub to connect headset and speakers at the same time? changing the plugs always was a pain always used my vnc playlist but spotify seems worth a try too and being able to control it on my OP2
  6. currently my sound setup looks like this room >- "hollywood 3-way" 50w speakers and an old crappy stereo system, i´ll check the name later pc -> sennheiser game one (mic starts failing again, i´ll try RMA again or ask for a refund and get something that doesnt die every 5-6 months) my budget for headset+mic is ~300 bucks and ~250 for the "sound system" as replacement i was thinking about something like the "harman kardon" (maybe with bluetooth) i saw that @ShadowCaptain uses them, so they seem to be worthy and some new headphones + mic maybe a blue yeti "snowball" mic + sennheiser urbanite or beyerdynamics would you recommend using wireless headphones? glad about advice and suggestions thanks in advance
  7. didnt know we have artists on this forum, looks great @pcnoob99

  8. you just cant make use of freesync the display works fine just without the feature freesync is only usable with a amd GPU you´ll have to get a g(reed)sync-display to benefit from a "similar" feature most display that have gsync have a 200buck higher price for nvidias proprietary module sadly it doesnt work with a free standard called adaptive sync that comes from the displayport 1.2a standard 2560x1080? why no real 1440p display
  9. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/xtNp2R i´d go with a lower evga or be quiet psu (using them for ages) instead and put a noctua or scythe cooler on it
  10. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/JQYdD8 something like that, case and psu might be changed
  11. the 980ti is capable to run most games on 3440x1440 60fps, some titles dont work on ultra settings and if you got a fancy 100hz display you need more power too, so i´d say the gtx 1080 is nice to have too http://techgage.com/article/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-review-a-look-at-4k-ultra-wide-gaming/5/
  12. i´d go for the intel build too to safe money instead of buying a gpu the onboard graphics are ok playing hd/blueray content without problems? if he start to think about playing some games he can still get a gpu later if the performance isnt enough
  13. yesterday i got a call from my mates dad to get a new pc because his current is getting slow and winXP doesnt work as fast as he wants it to his current rig got a intel core duo and some other currently unknown specs until i check them for myself ... so IMO i dont think it´ll be worth to upgrade it and go instantly for a new rig and put him from the ages of win XP to the future a few years passed since i build the last budget build so i´d like some advice currency euro usage: he doesnt plan on playing any games on it, so its only for officework, browsing and watching HD movies with a small form factor like mini or micro atx CPU - AMD Athlon X4 880K or i3 6100 Mobo - Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3 or asus, gigabyte... whatever h110 boardRAM - kingston value ram 8gb 2133 ddr 4 SSD : 850evo 250gb for the OS HDD - maybe he wants to keep his old storage HDD´s but at the same age of the intel core duo they might need to be replacedPSU - some evga or xfx / seasonicCase - maybe corsair carbide air 240 what would you suggest?
  14. gtaV is a CPU demanding game so the gpu is in 2nd place -> many MMO and strategy games run better with a strong CPU i7 2600 is like 150 bucks and a i5 6500 is ~200 bucks ( sadly its bound to a new mobo + ram )
  15. even with the phenom in it ? and that fancy gt 250 .... isnt that the latest best stuff you can get ? it has 1000mb of storage ...
  16. a mate swapped his phenom 2 x??? a few days ago to get a brand new amd fx8350 just to quote him "i dont like intel, they dont have 8 cores" .... yup before he just puts it into the trash i could ask him, but amd needs another mobo that i dont have not to blame amd s performance but to be honest its old and maybe zen changes something i´d rather get a nice xeon or i5 than a outdated "toaster" with a stnadard cooler on it
  17. @Akadis great idea with a fileserver, got myself a raspi for that the coreduo was nice back in the days so it should be able to run some simple gaming too with the gt250 got an old gtx8600 too but i doubt they work together ... and working rig with a old but working and clean 17" tn display and keyboard+mouse should be worth a clammy handshake
  18. in the last few weeks i got pc´s to repair or scavenge i got some of the parts that were replaced but still worked as a gift now i have parts around like a intel coreduo palit gt 250 some motherboards ( need to check names ) and alot DDR2 like 2x2 gb pc2-6400 and some 1gb modules i guess for "basic"-office and browsing stuff the coreduo should still do the job and might be usefull for someone that needs it i´d name it obsolator or something like that for the almost 11 year old CPU and other old parts would you build and sell it for a few bucks?
  19. anything maxed? checkboxes etc? resolution scale 100%? i couldnt say anything good about hardware optimization on this game sometimes its been easier to toggle the game into DX10 mode for better fps or other usefull commands like -useallavailablecores
  20. nope, its early access and has a really crappy hardware optimization you cant even max it with a OC´d 980ti at 1080p resolution at near 60fps
  21. first to mention before is that ark is still a game thats in early access which means that the developers dont worry much about hardware optimization and actually just focus on putting more and more content into the game my mate had 2x980ti and swapped to 2xgtx 1080 on 2560x1440 and couldnt max everything the best would be checking some forums and reviews of people playing it with similar rigs, i´d only toggle vision range and textures to max and the resolution scale anything else can be mid -high just enjoy your rig and then toggle with the settings of the games you play, any settings that get you 60fps for a smooth gameplay at enjoyable detail level are great the rig looks solid you might want/need a higher winX license than "home" to get some more functions of the system enabled
  22. damn i wanted to order it too as a replacement for my OP2, did they run out of stock? the oneplus2 is still solid too and they sell them for ~315 bucks ( only flaw is the cpu gets a bit warm and no fast charge) or the nexus 6P
  23. the h100i is fine but if you get it you should check for other fans first the stock fans on it sound like a vacuum for my own h100i i got 2 noctua NF F12 and use the low noise adapter to reduce the max rpm from 1500 to 1200 and cant hear the aio anymore standard fans h100i( 37,7dB 2500rpm airflow 70,6cfm ) NF F12 pwm ( 22,4 dB 1500rpm airflow 93,4cfm ) or the industrial versions ( ca 29,7dB with 2000rpm airflow 121,8cfm ) ek vardar and many others are great too
  24. its almost the same with the CX PSU series, most of them are made for basic non demanding rigs and if you got faulty psu´s then you warn others so they dont get the same trouble also the other PSU i suggested is gold certified and if you hit the right wattage with your rig and it matches the like 80% usage of the psu you run with optimal efficiency the devilscanyon is great to OC and you´ll enjoy it with thermal compound you could take the gelid solutions extreme, it reduced the temps by 8°C in the rig of my mate after replacing the "stock" compound
