  1. Core clock on msi afterburner is set to almost zero. Should maybe be a little higher... I mean base clock on a 960 is 1100 something MHZ isn't it?. Try running something like a bench marking utility to see if the computer is performing.
  2. Its been along time since I finished my Audio Engineering quals and I did it at the time digital consoles were coming into the fore. I started on cubase vst, protools and digi designs digi001. What about the Digi Designs digi 003 series if you can find one around the traps and in particular this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/digidesign-digi-003-factory-pro-tools-le-workstation#productDetail
  3. Australia gets smashed on pc pricing as you can see. PC Case Gear aren't bad on pricing and most places for online parts in Australia are comparable give or take a dollar. You just have to pay ripoff shipping if you don't live near their warehouse which is what kills the online market here.
  4. Umart are good for prices if you order on-line, pick up and pay cash compared to everyone that is based out of the state you live in. All places that charge freight have to charge like wounded bulls because Auspost and the courier companies are rip off merchants. I feel sorry for anyone that lives in WA and has to wait a week to get stuff from anywhere in australia even iff its express shipped. I looked at ordering my whole system from PCCG but it was going to cist nearly $300 to freight it so I went to Umart and saved a ton more.
  5. You can't really just bash out random bits of code and hope it performs its function and you need to know what bits of code do what and where to put them hence structure but you have to know what each snippet of code does before you can use it in your solution. The structure of a program is important too, because if there is no structure the next person who comes in to add or fix something is not going to be able to do that and will hunt you down and if that coding structure is ugly and unreadable no one will will convict them of a crime if the hurt you. For me: what a piece of code does is more important to learn first as how do you know where to put it in your structure if you don't know what it does.
  6. Just out of curiosity, what about thermal compound? Enough / not enough / too much? Possibly a bad cup. Maybe take the whole thing to the place you got the cpu and mobo from and get them to test it for doa.
  7. Try and pick up a usb extension cable (if you don't already have one) and move the dongle around within the cable length to see if you can get better signal. On my rig at home, a 2 inch change in dongle position results in a 50-75% reduction in reception.
  8. Or it forces you to download steam, then the game. It then installs from the download then asks you to insert the disc to verify the install. Sims 3 did that to my Mrs when she got it. The kicker was it had to do it on adsl2+ with an 8mbps connection.
  9. Shit part about no Australian Dollar in Steam is the added fees for currency conversion on top of the purchase price plus credit card fees for those that pay that way. Great for the banks profits, not for our wallets.
  10. MCC on PC please because I Can't justify $800 for a console and 5 games that will be played through once for posterity when I'm sinking 4K on an awesome new PC. Although I suppose I can forgo 1x1440 monitor for the XBone
  11. You could try some electrical contact cleaner on all of the parts where it is/was sticky or the drink pooled. my past experience has been very positive using a CRC brand. one type here or Here note: no responsibility taken for damage and read the instructions and or product details before purchase or use
  12. Other than going to a custom loop probably not. There are other AIO's that are maybe a bit better but the $ per degree are not worth it. Your chances of over clocking higher with another AIO or LC solution depend on the silicon lottery.
  13. I need to play more SW games, last one I was able to play on pc was Rebel Assault and just recently Force Unleashed on Xbox. I sadly spent a lot of time out of gaming due to work and family commitments.
  14. I'd say tyres. What are they? My intgegra would smoke certain ones land others would hold on like cat trying to be bathed. or Gear ratio.
