Can the ryzen 5 3600 handle 1440p?

Hi I am planning to upgrade my current rig in the near future and I was wondering if I should get the 2700x to save money or just pay almost double for the 3700x. (The 2700x is cheaper because of the micro center cpu and mobo bundle). Im planning on getting two 1440p/144hz monitors and I mainly play games not really streaming or editing.
