It depends on the type of RAID you use, but i would go for single 240 just to be free of the hassle of raid

i would say it depends on the types of games you like to play. If you like fast paced games like doom or csgo (or fps'ses in general) you should go for 144. If you play mostly rpg's, grand strategy or puzzles, i would go with 60 since you'll save money, and then you can get a better quality image!

If you can afford a 480 go with that! the performance margin far outweigh the money spent!

It should work fine. If for some reason you have problems try using only your new memory stick. If it works, that means for some reason your old and new memory have problems working together, then buy another one to get 8 gb. If only using your new memory stick doesn't work, then mate your'e stuck with the old one!

Not really, or at least it will be so small you wont notice. GDDR5 vs GDDR5X isn't that big of a difference in real world applications.

i would wait for the 1080 ti. these seem a lot better suited for your needs and a lot less pricey

I don't have a monitor to reccomend, but i can tell you that an rx 480 / gtx 1060 (whichever is cheapest where you live) is a minimum. With these you can expect to run the AAA games at medium-high, but i would reccomend buying something better such as the 1070 which is in my opinion your best option here.

Using an old acer membrane keyboard from 10 years ago. the shift and ctrl key are slowly dying, and registering only about 2/3 of presses... It has served me well but an occasion to retire it would be great!

So i won an external hard drive. It's formatted in NTFS and i want to use it to transfer files between a mac and a PC. would it be a good idea to just reformat it to exFAT? would this allow me to use it on both systems without more problems?

So, i'm interested in doing some code in APL, and as some of you (hopefully) might know, APL uses quite a few weird symbols representing functions and operators (making it quite concise and powerfull, that's why i want to do some lines with it). The problem is, inserting those symbols can be long without a keyboard that is made for it. I was wondering if some of you know where to get maybe some keycaps i could place on my mechanical keyboard? Keyboards made for APL exist, but they are quite expensive, and if i can just use my own keyboard and just change the keycaps, it would be nice...

stuttering and frame drops can be caused by the CPU, yes. these drops can be caused for example by other programs starting in the background that use some cpu power, and it will affect your games especially if your cpu doesn't have at least 4 cores. but then don't think a 960 can run everything at the highest settings. before upgrading i would search for benchmarks around the internet and compare the results with your own, and see if you are really lower than you should be. if you notice a significant difference between your results and those of other poeple's benchmark with the same GPU, then yes the issue is the CPU

You could try No man's sky, it's coming in June. Also Elite: dangerous is quite good. GTA V is always a good guess, and hey, you could try planetside 2, it's free, and even if the game's 3 years old now it's not bad looking.
