  1. I would choose the samsung gear live. Inexpensive, functioning. All you really need or if the budget is enough for it, the new moto 360. That ones just crazy.
  2. Hello to all. I have a macbook pro 2012 non retina and I was just wondering whether I should upgrade to an ssd from a hard drive while I am using Yosemite because more support is available for it online. I want to do a fresh install. Or, should I just wait for osx el Capitan and then upgrade my ssd? Also, will there be any conference if I switch to an ssd and then update to osx el Capitan? Thanks.
  3. Its pretty shitty to be honest. I think Ill just end up recycling it. I use an iPad air so I am fine there. I just didn't want to throw it away.
  4. Well, I was going through this box of old tech and I found a working iPad 1. It has been jailbrokrn on ios 5.1.1. Is there any way I can repurpose it, change softwares, install android maybe? Tell me if I can do anything with it please.
  5. @Epiclol86 i work with pro audio a lot so i already have krk rokit 8 g3 studio monitors and a harmon kardon soundbar over top. i have a sound card already that i am not using these days. its the m-audio m track plus. is it good? or should i just get a sound card? you tell me.
  6. @Real_PhillBert Well, to be honest I have been a mac user for so long. I am not really used to the lingo. I want it to be a little overkill to avoid going through the same thing again down the road. And I don't plan to shift from my curved monitor so can you guys streamline your input that way? And thank you so much for the input.
  7. well, to begin with i am kind of a newbie at pc building to be honest. this will be my first proper pc build. i am primarily a mac user but i wanted to shift from mac to pc or at the least use both together. so, i want to build a 4000 dollar pc fitted with the best tech possible so that i don't have to keep upgrading it every year and get the best performance and reliability as well. one of my friends got great suggestions from this forum and has built himself a sick gaming rig for $ 2400. uses- i will mostly use it for gaming and media consumption. i just want it for my own consumption and not for super professional use. here are the specifics of the build- 1. i want the intel i7 6700 in the build. 2. at least 32 gigs of ram or maybe 64 gig if you guys say so. 3. a two card or more sli set up. 4. 1 samsung 850 pro 500 gb ssd for the operating system and a 4 tb seagate drive for mass storage. 5. also the 4000 dollar budget does not include the monitors or peripherals. its all for the pc 6. i will only be using one monitor, lg 34uc97 ultra wide. 7. if need be i can increase my budget to about $5000. 8. i only want to use air cooling. i won't be overclocking anyways. 9. noise is not really a concern. 10. i won't be playing at 4k so, theres that. please help me to find the sickest and the best gaming pc build for the price. thanks, sb.
  8. Hey! I have a Sony Vaio vpceg15en with an Intel 2310m 2.1 ghz and 6 gb ram and Intel HD 3000 graphics. I want to know about any fps games I can run on it. Low quality most probably. I am not a gamer but since I updated it to Windows 10 I am giving it more thought. If I really like it I might build a gaming or just buy a gaming laptop. I really like fps games. I run call of duty 4 modern warfare on low resolution on an external monitor and keep the laptop under the table on a cooler. Can you guys suggest anything?
  9. I have the macbook pro 2012 and I am using the stock hard drive. I want to wether it is okay to clone a hard drive to an ssd or should I just do a fresh install of Mac osx? Does cloning hard drive to ssd cause problems? If I have to do a fresh install I would just wait for osx el Capitan to come out and do a fresh install of that. What say?
  10. Since you have a multi threaded workload here I would go with more cores. If you wanna go Intel i'd say the intel 4670-k is a really good idea. And that k allows you to overclock if you want some extra juice.
  11. To be honest you seem to have a sick set up here. If I were you I would increase my storage. Buy a 500 gb 850 pro and a 2tb shortage because it seems as though compared to the rest of your set up you are lacking a little in storage. I am a Mac user and macs love em some ssd's. I am not sure how skylake is gonna interact with yosemite though.
  12. It would be best if you update them just to be on the bleeding edge so to speak. I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in my vaio laptop and my WiFi was barely working but with one update it works like magic. Windows 10 seems to be very compatible with updates as far as I have seen.
  13. So I guess cloning is a no go. Well, that's okay. I will wait for osx el Capitan and go from there. I will probably do it next year just to be sure I don't void my warranty. Thanks guys!
