Anyone here catch wind of the rtx cards kinda bricking themselves in games?
So some back story, I finally got a 3060 on the 14th of this month and a few days in it bricked itself in games-to be clear it worked fine the first 2 days. It would run benchmarks fine, just not games, after the updates. The game would stutter a little on splash screen or the second you load into the game then you could hear all the sounds but black screen or frozen. I tried rolling back the windows update from a few days ago and rolling back the nvidia drivers 5 versions (even doing studio ones as well), clean install of windows, I have a more in-depth post on nvidias forums. Then I started reading more forum posts....there were at least 10 more posts of the exact same issue all lining up with my same time line and the cards were of varying age. Almost all were 3000 series and almost all were on ryzen systems. There were a few outliers but the vast majority were those that I listed.
I ended up just rma-ing the card and getting a 3070ti but not everyone can just throw a wad of cash at the issue to fix it. I also just popped the 3070ti into the same system as the 3060 no changes and it worked fine. (I had already done a clean windows install and am currently running 1-2 driver versions back on it I can't remember by the end of it and don't want to rehash that 3 day long nightmare). I can try and pull log files for the issue but I don't have the card to replicate the issues anymore. I did post some snips of windows event viewer and some error logs in my OG nvidia post so I can also link to that with a full list of specs and all the hardware I swapped out in the system to troubleshoot this issue.
