I've joined! I have a stockpile of old computers and I've installed Linux Mint on to them and got going! I currently have a total of 7 computers folding. 2 are mobile Core 2 Duos, one is a desktop Core 2 Duo, that bare board on the bench is my old server, which is a Xeon 3070, and that computer on the end is an AMD Trinity something... it's got built in Radeon graphics so that helps. I also have my computer on the task, which is a Ryzen 7 2700 paired with an ancient GTX 750 as well as my server, which is a Xeon X3440. I wanted to get some of my really old hardware going like a Slot 1 PIII and a few Celerons, but I don't feel like trying a million old versions of Mint to find one that works just to squeeze out a little more horsepower. I hope this all amounts to something because this is quite the power consumption lol

I've added an interesting piece of hardware to my folding farm. This is a Phoenix Contact PPC-5319 Panel PC from 2004. It rocks a "Banias" Pentium M with 1.6 GHz crammed through a 400 MHz FSB. It's also got 512 MB of RAM and a 30 GB Maxtor hard drive and a fresh copy of Windows 7 32-bit. Not bad for a company that also makes hammers. Where my Ryzen 7 2700 is estimated to rake in 150,000 points a day, it seems this beauty will bring in about 59. Efficient in any way? No. Really cool? Yes.
It picked up work right away, so I guess there are some WU's optimized for a 32-bit glorified toaster.

Nice! I tried with a AMD E240 but that thing was too bad for anything! Also tried with a old Atom, better but still nahh... The oldest computer what Im running is a Intel E2160, but was a bit too slow for F@H so that one is running Roseta@home with BOINC now

I recently got into vintage hardware in the past year and I have collected a RIVA TNT2, RIVA TNT2 Ultra and a GeForce 3 ti 200. I've been lucky with the 20+ year old hardware not coming in DOA. *knocks on wood* But I have the means to refurb if need be.
Either way, happy folding! 🦾

I'm having a great time! I now have 8 computers folding. I'm out of school for 3 weeks and I kinda want to ask if I can set up my school's library computers to fold since no one is there except core staff.
