Remote software for personal use
UsernamePassword replied to UsernamePassword's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Last power outage where I live was 3-4 years ago so I should be good on that part! Can you give any reasoning why AnyyDesk is better than any other tool for the task? My home machine is quite powerful and I need to work on some editing and rendering while being gone so that's why I have the plan to just remote to it on the best way possible to be able to do my task, Sure it will be a bit laggy but the render time on completion will be 1 hour instead of 30 hours on my laptop -
So I'm going on a 3 week trip and need a reliable way to connect from my Laptop to my Home PC during the time. I will just leave my home computer ON and I need a software so I can easily just connect to it from my laptop, Is Teamviewer the best bet? Any other considerations I should take during this 3 week trip? Thanks

I am in the market for a new laptop and would like to buy one before March (2022), I have googled, Youtube'd etc but can't find any information about DDR5 laptops, I have also emailed a few laptop manufactors but only get "No information" as reply. Has anyone heard anything? Even if it's just rumors I know for sure that if I buy a DDR4 laptop, The month after DDR5 will be announced

I have a bit of a weird issue, When I boot my computer it's just a blackscreen, I never see the BIOS, Windows screen etc. However the Disk loading led on front of the case (P400A) is blinking constantly, Then if I click the "Force restart" button, then the computer works normally (Well at the Windows login screen it takes me like 10 minutes to login to my computer. I have tried a fresh install but issue still persist. Setup: Windows 11 - Latest updates https://pcpartpicker.com/list/W3MKn7 Tried to run SFC /Scannow but didn't help. Not sure what exactly is wrong or if it's just the M2 drive starting to die?

Windows task manager reports that I run the same application multiple times in task manager, They are all running as well and I'm worried this affects performance or will cause instability etc. Is there anything I can do against this? Similar issue in Microsoft Forum without answer; https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/windows-opening-multiple-copies-of-the-same/d1d73631-f398-4e2c-8f12-e9c102c1e3f9 Tried to restart etc.. I also have like 100 svchost running? Images + PID

Drilling the table VS wireless gear?
UsernamePassword replied to UsernamePassword's topic in New Builds and Planning
Bumping this post -
I'm currently debating as products are cheaper during blackfriday I want a clean setup because I like it clean, Drilling a hole in the table + cut the mousepad (I have a XXL mousepad) with a knife to hide the cables to keep it plugged in, OR Buy Logitech G915 TKL keyboard and get a Wireless gaming mouse What would you do in my situation? I'm currently looking for the drill method but then I would still have a cable for the mouse. Pros with drilling: Plugged in, Never need to charge Can have RGB full on (However how often do you look at your keyboard and mouse?) Cons: Have to drill the table? Have to cut the mousepad with a knife to plug tuck the cables in the knife hole to keep it a bit cleaner, stitches in mousepad might degrade over time due to this? Pros with Wireless: No drilling / cutting No Wires at all Cons: Needs to charge Needs to purchase new gear~ No RGB due to battery, However it's on Keyboard and mouse which I really never see anyway?

Does AIO coolers always sound this much when overclocking? Like I can hear the computer across the house. Before OC (Image from NZXT CAM) After Ryzen Master: I am not sure how the fan speed works but sometimes it ramps up to 2400? Maybe it's done correctly, I'm not sure, I just wanted to check since it's sooooo loud Example here, No CPU load (I watch a Youtube video but computer sounds so much) Thanks!

Where Gaming Begins: Ryzen 5000 Series Reviews
UsernamePassword replied to Deus Voltage's topic in Tech News
Seeing that the 5600x beats 3950x, a cpu that got released 11 months ago (In some scenarios). I believe a lot of people with a 3950x will upgrade to 5950x the upcoming days -
So I have a editing rig and just received my 3090, Was a bit suprised that it already arrived. My Machine: Ryzen 3950x - AIO cooled Asus Strix 3090 Corsair Vengeance 4x16gb 3200 X570-E What I did: CPU: Ryzen Master - Precision Boost Overdrive RAM: XMP default ON in Bios. GPU: Nothing, I tried to download Asus GPU Tweak but it wont start for some reason. My time spy score (From Basic edition - Free version) Is this a good test? Should I change anything, If so what? Can anyone assist me in overclocking? What are scores that you should be able to get with a machine with this? I'm looking for tips and tricks, As overclocking my machine would also assist me in rendering faster! What I did notice that when I turned on Ryzen master the CPU fans on my AIO (3x) started to be really loud to keep the temps down, Like really loud Thanks!

Motherboard: Asus X570-E CPU: Ryzen 3950x ___________ What I want: Enter BIOS and Enable XMP Issue: When I start my computer the keyboard wont work before Windows has started. Troubleshooting: Tested my own keyboard + a standard HP USB keyboard. Tested different USB ports. Tested with Fast boot enabled + disabled. __________ Any ideas what I can do? Thanks!

Silly me, Thanks for the post! I just saw "CAM", It has quite a nice GUI, Is that application reliable? (Accurate) My Task manager: CAM: -
I run a editing machine where I render projects for 30 min - 5 hours straight at 100% cpu (3950x) and using all of my available ram (64gb), I have a Asus motherboard (If that matters for the question below). Question: Is there any nice software that can monitor the temps I am getting with a good GUI that is simple like: CPU temp : X Thanks and sorry for the silly question

So I am, Just like most people it seems like looking to purchase an RTX card, I am planning to have this card for many years and wonder if it's worth it to put the extra premium into a strix card? Example: MSI / Zotac 3090 goes for 1900 usd for me (With conversion) Strix 3090 goes for 2300 usd, It's an extra $400 premium. What makes the Strix so much more expensive? Their TUF lineup is the same price as the others at 1900
