  1. My benchmarking rig. Two world records this past weekend in PCMark10. I took an old beat up full tower Thermaltake, gave it some brick red paint (needs a new window as its pretty scratched up) and my university's die cut decals on it. Intel 11900k 5.3/5.2-, ASRock Formula OC z590, 32GB 3600mhz Gskill D4, Intel Optane 900p, Western Digital SN750, Coolermaster Sub Zero h2o with Nocuta fans in push/pull. Link to the youtube video. https://youtu.be/aCrkVgY5JEs
  2. Are those plants fake or real? If they are real, bravo.
  3. True. These boards were never really meant to go IN systems. Benchtables maybe. I dont like the color either and will probably just cut up some carbon fiber to cover it up.
  4. And another new motherboard is in. ASRock OC Formula z590. This thing is awesome. Tons of tinker tools. I hated the Gigabyte bios, so this was a good change. Also, I picked it up for 135US. Time for new OCing and benches. Im not expecting much more performance, but I love the board, minus the yellow green heatsinks????
  5. Power usage: 4.7w while off, 150w at idle, and 869w while gaming.
  6. At 5.4ghz, chip stays around 45-50 during Call of duty multiplayer games. Its working great! It now typically idles at 5-9C.
  7. Running benchmarks today. Mostly PugetBench. This thing out benches my 12gen with double the ram. In Premiere Pro 23 it scored 1144pts with 5.3x2 5.1x4 and 5.0x8. Idle temps are 0C and maxed at 100C (I need to back off avx512) on 3 cores with the rest in the mid 90C. 3DMark TimeSpy 18710 3DMark Storage 4361 PCMark 10 8595 3DMark FIreStrike 34270 Im going to shoot for higher clocks as when Im gaming the temps are quite good still.
  8. Fan grilles installed. I primarily play COD MW so these suit it well. They are from MNPCTech.
  9. I have since changed from the ASRock motherboard to a Gigabyte Aorus Master. Great hardware, terrible bios. 11900k went it and out with the 11700k. I also changed the memory to ddr4 3600 cas 16. Last but not least the gpu got changed to a FE RTX 3090. Swapped out the Noctua Chromax for Redux fans and added some real cabon fiber plate. Itll hit 5.4 on 2cores, 5.3 on 4cores and 5.1 on 8.

  11. The 3050 is better suited. More memory and cuda cores. Pro cards are more for CAD, simulations and programs that need ECC Vram which I dont think the t600 has anyway. I use a GTX 1660 Super atm. It works great with my 4k footage. And premiere can use the gpu (s) quite a bit. I use the built in Intel gpu too. Works faster than any processor without it can...
  12. My game drive is a RAID 0 of Western Digital SN750s. Might as well, its just games that I can redownload. Does it load games faster? Yes it does. Never had conflicts in my raid drives before (only having a drive fail and kill the stripe, but thats the rope ya walk). Ive run HDs in mulitple sets, sata SSDs the same and NVMEs now too. Its faster load times. I would never RAID my OS/apps drive however, thats just asking for trouble. Mine go on Optane drives atm.
  13. I have two rigs, so two sound systems to compare. My workstation has Presonus 3.5s and their 8" subwoofer. Its affordable and sounds fantastic and clean. Its more analytical than my gaming rig. For that I am using Klipsch rp500s with a 10" Kef subwoofer. Its very dynamic and would say its more fun than the Presonus set up, but it cost twice as much. Check out Presonus on Amazon, you wont be sorry.
  14. Love Voodoos products. Its a great story. I remember back when they started. The cable management guy was an origami master. I always wanted one. I had a Falcon Northwest and Dell XPS 510 cases from back in the day, but they have been sold. Awesome post. Thanks for this.
  15. My daughter and I had some time together this weekend to build a custom network router. Specs as follows... Intel Core i3 6100, 8GB DDR3, 120GB pny SSD, quad NICs including dual Intel 10GB, old small 2U matx server chassis. As it came together, we discussed the parts, why I chose them and what a router actually does. We programmed PFsense and the APs and the network was up. Then we went over the specs of it all (modem location, switches, APs and their locations) and then ate some kick ass burritos from a joint nearby for lunch. Good times. She's 14 and still likes to hang out with me from time to time. Im trying to hold onto that and teach her some things along the way. Cheers to all the Dads out there.
  16. I have had a couple machines with custom ordered to length cables from CableMod. You get what you pay for here. Don't trust some no name company who puts out cheap cables as those have damaged a few machines in their time.
  17. Here are some photos taken by my wife with her Sony AX6100.
  18. I dont know how this is converted, cuz Im in the US, but 600 used to be like 800US. I also dont know what parts available in your country. Anyway, I will get this started : Intel, 12400 cpu, it has 6 cores and 12 threads, Gskill 16gb DDR4 3200mhz memory (2x8GB), I like ASRock motherboards myself too - affordable, lotsa features, and performance varies little unless your OCing, so ASRock B660M Steel Legend motherboard, I only use Seasonic (rarely EVGA) power supplies and they tend to be more expensive, but Corsair and EVGA Gold or higher level rated power supply in 550w-750w should do fine, Western Digital SN750 1TB NVME solid state drive, any atx case will do and then for graphics and this is kind of a hard one right now, but I say EVGA 1660 Super for that. If you want to upgrade something down the road, do the cpu heatsink or add more storage. Hope this helps and Welcome to LTT.
  19. I run an optical cable to a Schiit modi Dac, then locking RCAs to Yamaha 2 channel amplifier to Klipsch RP500ms and then to a Kef 10" 250w subwoofer. Its glorious. Looking to replace the amp (again, I had an Adcom with bad caps) with an Emotiva. Hopefully that will happen this winter. At my workstation, I also have a Schiit Modi Dac going to Presonus studio monitors. Looking to get the matching sub soonish.
  20. I still have to manage cables, but everything is a go.
  21. Here are two links to videos I did on this build. I see one is missing... that I had to reupload. Ill repost at some point.
