  1. Hi A while back my PC started crashing while running youtube in google chrome, and only in chrome. Currently using it in edge and no problems. No problems with any other applications either. The fault I'm getting is page fault in nonpaged area. I had my GPU and CPU overclocked, but removed the OC after the problem started occurring, now running default speeds on everything. I've updated all of my drivers, bios, and also tried installing an earlier version of chrome, from when I am certain it had no problems. Nothing has worked. I have also tried running the windows memory diagnostic tool, but it found no problems. I've recently updated my nvidia GPU's with the latest update, and it seemed to work after that. But just now after working for a couple of days, it started crashing again. The crashes occur immediately after starting a video in youtube, just browsing and searching for videos is no problem. Now I don't know whether or not this is caused by hardware, but I don't know any other software fixes at this point. If it is hardware, I'm quite eager to know which part you think it is, especially now as black friday is right around the corner.. Thanks! Hardware: CPU: 6700k GPU: 2x msi 980ti RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR4 3200MHz MB: Asus Rog maximus viii hero
  2. My bad. Turns out i was only stresstesting the cpu, not fpu and cache. My cpu came with an extremly high stock voltage(ca. 1.35), so I thought that was the reason it ran so cool at high voltage
  3. Hi! I'm currently overclocking my 6700k and I've noticed that it runs extremely cool at high voltages. It's stable at 4,8GHz with 1,43V at only 45°C! My question is: How high volt can I have? Is it only limited by temperatures, or does the mobo have any voltage limitations? Mobo: Asus maximus viii hero Cooling: CM nepton 240m
  4. well, I would if I could.. but I'm not even able to fully turn my PC on. It freezes every time. I can enter the bios without problems, but when windows is loading, it freezes at different points every time. Makes me think maybe the fault lies within windows, or the ssd windows is stored on..
  5. I use 4x4gb ram, and I've tried every stick in every slot. Is it possible that all four stick are corrupt?
  6. I've reset mobo settings to default multiple times.. But I will certainly try finding the file
  7. Hi! I've recently started experiencing several freezes on my computer, sometimes followed by a bluescreen. This could happen at any point while browsing, streaming, or gaming. But now, it's gotten so bad that I'm no longer able to turn the computer on, because it freezes at different stages of booting up.. Sometimes the computer doesn't react to the reset button, and so I have to cut the power just to restart the thing. I'm not running any OC, but my stock cpu voltage are insanely high(6700K). At auto during normal usage(browsing and some gaming), I've seen the voltage go all the way up to 1.419.. I would presume that cpu was bad, given that it runs at such a high volt. But my cpu has already been sent back from repair, and they said that they found nothing wrong. So I'm wondering, is it possible that somthing else is causing my problems, or did they simply do a bad job at checking my cpu? All help is appreciated
  8. Thanks for all your replies! Based on this, I think I'll be sticking with the 6700K
  9. Hi! I'm curious to this, as I haven't managed to find a conclusion anywhere.. Will a 5820k/6800k perform the same as a 6700k at the same clockspeeds, when working singlecore tasks? Or are there more variables to take into concideration? I know more cores are better for multitasking and so on, but will 6 cores @4GHz outperform 4 cores @4GHz in a gaming situation?
  10. Well, I always thought it was the chip, but this got me wondering.. Thanks for your help!
  11. Limiting me like it's not very good, or do you think it's faulty? There has in fact been some other issues with the mobo as well. Certain USB ports aren't working, and it often times hangs when shutting down. I thought that I could manage without two USB ports, but now I'm starting to think the whole board is bad.. It is an Asus rog maximus hero VIII mobo.
  12. I'm thinking 4.6-4.7GHz. I've had it at 1.4V without any signs of overheating during stress testing. At that point It failed a 4.5GHz OC, so I went back to stock speed beacuse I wasn't gonna run it at 4.4GHz with 1.4V..
  13. Hi! I've just noticed intels performance tuning protection plan. Given that I have a really bad overclocking CPU (6700k runs at 1.32 stock) it seems like a really great deal, because I have to have my voltage at over 1.4 to reach a decent OC.. My questions are: 1. Does it work as they say? Do you really get a new cpu if you fry it? Or is there some hidden catch? 2. Wouldn't it be bad for my mobo as well to run my cpu at let's say 1.45-1.5V over time ?
