  1. I'm curious to know if anybody has a full custom water cooled rig running on this and how thermals are performing. Participating in this event has made me want to build a new computer with a custom loop in it.
  2. Nothing you've done wrong. Just not enough server capacity. Try pausing the GPU slot then starting it again. It will reset that next attempt timer.
  3. All of my folding slots have been full for at least 48 hours with no babysitting. Server issues must be resolved mostly.
  4. Did you just have to buy a differ t cord for the server power supply then?
  5. I actually just did a bunch of googling and found out what this can do. When I get my own place, I'm installing one in every spot I need one.
  6. 1.) That's sweet. Don't know what VTA stands for though. 2.) my dream is to have a 2 door GC one day. I hate suba-bro's. They ruin everything. 3.) Close. It's out of my 09 Legacy GT Spec.B. Rebuilt with forged internals after detecting rod knock very early. 4.) I've got a turbo off of a skid steer I might give to a buddy with a Nissan mini truck. Sorry for delayed replies, I am at work.
  7. Also @hydrochloric I love your Subaru. That's an awesome mod. Here's my main engine.
  8. Without oil in the intake though, there is no carbon coming into the intake. Engines that just vent the crankcase to atmosphere don't have carbon buildup problems at all.
  9. See the thing that does not make sense to me is the carbon build up is not a problem on diesel engines (pre EGR) and they are high compression direct injection engines just like the 2.0l VWAG engine. I think that carbon build up on small DI engines is at least in part due to manufacturers recommending lighter and lighter oils that get sucked through the PCV system easily. Also PCV systems are under designed IMO to prevent this. They should be including an air oil separator in factory systems.
  10. Its a FPT (Fiat Power Train) Cursor 13. Top trim of this engine is 16L displacement, 700+ hp and 2400+ft-lbs of torque. I'd beg to differ on your compression ratio causing faster wear. It's the way the engines are used. Diesels commonly have compression ratios of 16/1 and can so for a few million miles between overhauls. Car engines would last longer with less heat cycles due to (relatively) short trips.
  11. Same here. It's why I work on big stuff. Still lots of computers and tech involved. Especially with auto guidance systems.
  12. I wonder if it would be worth it to run a 20 amp circuit. Also really curious if you can actually run 240V in north america since that's what comes into the house.
  13. Yeah I know it doesn't matter. Just gives me another reason to save for upgrades. Big upgrade coming for me when next gen GPU's and next gen zen hits.
  14. My problem is old hardware. GPU's are a 7950 and a 760. CPU is a 6600K.
  15. It's kinda frustrating when everything you have is folding 24/7 and you still go down on the team leaderboard because so many people with better hardware are also folding...
  16. I like the white noise my computer makes. Also have a window to open and it still freezes here at night.
  17. I think I might be able to explain the how the pressure rating is measured for you. There is a device called a manometer used to measure difference in pressure. Picture a long U shaped tube filled with water. That is a basic manometer. Now imagine you have a fan blowing into a box and one end of the U is connected to the box. The pressure that the fan can produce will displace some water in the tube and that measurement is where the 1.52 mm H²O comes from. If doesn't make sense I'm sure someone can explain how a manometer works better than me on YouTube or something.
  18. How are you pulling that much then? Are you running on more than one breaker?
  19. I bet we stay that way until this is all over. I will not be taking F@H off of my computers when this is all done. Might turn them down a little though.
  20. Same here. I've not had an idle GPU yet this week. It's the CPU only systems that are idle only sometimes for me. On an unrelated note: Does anybody know how long it takes for a completed WU to be counted in the stats? I completed a WU upload with 7 minutes before the refresh on XOC and XOC did not have it listed under the latest update.
