  1. oh oh sorry Windows is a must hehe my bad
  2. Is there no such thing? Haha My budget is around 400USD Only for web and office works.
  3. Nevermind found it. Googled "laptop hub"
  4. Hi! Accidentally bought a laptop with no ethernet port (Lenovo 330s-15ARR) Now in the market for a Type-C hub of sorts. Saw my officemate using this, unfortunately he couldn't remember the brand/model as it was just a gift to him. Any ideas? I'm kinda deadset on getting this hub. It acts both as a hub and a Laptop stand, and is Type-C.
  5. can you give me a reference on the difference between the 330 and 330s please? NEVERMIND FOUND IT hahaha Budget: 30,000PhP Usage: Daily driver. General use (e.g. internet/videochat). Nothing too heavy. But a GPU is a +. Display: 15.6" 1080p Battery Life: yes? ahaha I mean as much as practically possible. Online stores: PCHub PCWorx LaptopKid thanks my dude
  6. Laptop recommendations please. Currently eyeing the Lenovo 330s-15ARR or the cheaper 330-15ARR (I can never figure out the difference) Anything similar or better is appreciated. Laptop for general use and light gaming only. But mostly general use.
  7. hi! so I have a work laptop and at the office LAN we have to use a proxy server to be able to get internet on our units. is there some way I can auto-disable this when accessing non-work WiFi. or auto-enabling a proxy server when on work LAN?
  8. sooo just recently I upgraded my SSD into an NVMe M.2 SSD and the first issue I encounter is that SOMETIMES (especially during cold startups), my system would encounter either of the following issues no POST - I'd have to force a reboot using the power button, then sometimes #2 happens M.2 SSD not detected in BIOS The issue is minor, as it usually gets solved by a few reboots, but it does annoy the heck out of me. Is this a board issue or an SSD issue? I'm not sure how to prove which is which and how to request a replacement, if ever. PSU issue maybe?
  9. just got back from trying all of the known browsers (including those listed by homeap5). still no go. Am I out of luck?
  10. So far I've tried IE11, Edge, Chrome PC, Chrome Android, FireFox Android. Thanks for the other options though, I'll surely try them out
  11. Sooo we're in Japan right now and my sister asked me to get her a router for her house. I chose the TP-Link Archer C6 (which is probably the best bang-for-buck router in the market right now). Obviously, because we're in Japan, the firmware on the router is in Japanese. There wasn't an option to change the webUI to English, so I opted to flash an english firmware from the Bangladeshi site The firmware loaded successfully to 100% and then I was greeted by this screen: So now I'm stuck with that screen when I'm trying to access the webUI (192.168.0.1 or http://tplinkwifi.net) I already tried the following - rebooting everything - hard reset of the router - trying other browsers (even tried on my phone) - webUI access through both LAN and WiFi Fortunately, the default SSID and password was still accessible so I'm currently just using TP-Link Tether (mobile app) to access the router. UNfortunately, there is no option to load/upgrade firmware on Tether Any ideas? Save me haha I've given up on trying to get it to speak english. I just want the webUI back huhu
  12. Not sure if rhetorical but I'll answer, USB hubs will generally work. Although from my research, it seems the Mi Box is actually pretty picky with USB Hubs, specifically on the ethernet port. Personally, I'm not using it enough to justify ethernet, as it already works just fine with 5GHz AC.
  13. From my understanding of what you meant, this is a B series motherboard based on the AB350 chipset. (assuming the aseries is the A320) Yes. I'm using the latest BIOS. I would like to reiterate that it was working very well when I was still using a discrete GPU. I could just turn on XMP and it would work at 3200Mhz flawlessly. HOWEVER, now that I removed said dGPU, and now using the iGPU, I can't get past the login screen without the system crashing. Thanks is it correct to assume that #2 and #3 doesn't matter THAT much when it comes to compatibility?
  14. Can someone please ELI5 how to read my motherboard's QVL for Raven Ridge? My board is a Gigabyte AB350N-Gaming WiFi: (here is link http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-ab350n-gaming-wifi_raven_v1.pdf) I find it confusing hat a board with ONLY 2 DIMM SLOTS lists memory meant for a 8x16GB kit. Background: I actually already have a Trident Z kit (F4-3200C16D-16GTZSK) but I can't seem to run any RAM overclock without my system crashing at windows login. HOWEVER, I remember it working flawlessly when I still had a discrete GPU paired with the 2400G. Do note that in both cases I did not OC the CPU or the iGPU. So right now I'm planning to sell it off and buy new ones that are guaranteed to work at AT LEAST 2933 MHz Anyways: Here's the QVL. (here is link http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-ab350n-gaming-wifi_raven_v1.pdf) I really only need something that'll run at >=2933MHz @ 2x8GB What do these mean? Density (e.g. 4GB, 8GB, 16GB) - is this per stick? per kit? what? ->>>>>>> it's per stick # of Ranks x DRAM devices - what? SS/DS - ?? HELP
  15. yep. on F23. latest recommended drivers as well. more info ony my build on my sig.
  16. Hi sorry for the late feedback. Anyways, nevermind. We decided to just upgrade her 7y/o laptop rn with an SSD. If it breaks during the surgery (it is old after all), we'll buy used haha Thanks for the help anyways
  17. Hi! So for the past few months I've been running a small InWin Chopin + R5 2400G build. My only issue is that I can't get the RAM to run any type of OC. It just runs at stock 2133MHz. I have a G.Skill Trident Z 2x8GB Kit (F4-3200C16D-16GTZSK). Any type of OC (XMP or manual) will let me boot into windows, but as soon as Windows loads the graphics drivers (just a few seconds into the login screen), my PC will crash. I have tried EVERYTHING, and basically now I'm just looking into changing into Ryzen-rated RAM kits. Other than generally being better built, what other advantages does the Flare X have against the Trident Z RGB "X" kits? By "X" kits I mean the ones optimized for Ryzen: https://wccftech.com/gskill-amd-ryzen-optimized-trident-z-rgb-ddr4-memory/ Do the Trident Z RGB X kits have XMP profiles built for Ryzen as well? I hear that's the case for the Flare X. I'm really not looking into spending too much money anymore so I'm just looking for RAM that will work at 3200MHz (or even at least 2933) on my current setup.
  18. This is exactly something I'd be down to buy. Thanks! I'll check it out locally. Yea for now we would like to avoid going used just to trim down the choices haha For online stores, generally we don't have smth like Amazon or Newegg, but we do have local ones. I am already checking ads from those. Here I'm just asking for a general idea if there's any specific models I should be looking at.
  19. Heyooo. So me and my gf are planning on getting a laptop for general use. I do have a PC but sometimes it's really better if we have a laptop for portability. So far we're looking for anything cheap and light with a full-size (15.6") 1080p screen. Something like a Mi Notebook Pro, but cheaper. like half as much haha Budget is somewhere around 400-600$. But I'd really prefer just around the 400$ range. We really don't need anything fancy. By lightweight, I meant around 2kg. For performance, as long as it can run Skype and Chrome at the same time, we're good. SSD is a preference for faster boot, but I already have a spare I can use. ODD is really not required (who still uses this) Any suggestions? I noticed it's pretty difficult to find a low-spec, lightweight laptop with a full-size screen. EDIT: 1080p screen is a must
  20. Hiii guys! It's been a long time since I've posted here. Alot has happened to me in terms of PC building and I ended up with my current build in an InWin Chopin Like so: Parts Brand/Model APU AMD Ryzen 5 2400G Motherboard Gigabyte AB350N GAMING-WIFI Memory G.Skill Trident Z F4-3200C16D-16GTZSK Storage - SSD 250GB Samsung 850 EVO Storage - HDD 2.5" 1TB WD Blue WD10SPZX Case InWin Chopin Black I brought it with me for an overseas assignment and it has been serving me for around 6 months now. Anyhoo, I'm going home for the christmas season and I'm contemplating if I should do some upgrades. 1. M.2 SSD + 1TB HDD My current SSD is my first ever SSD from my first ever build a very, very long time ago. I'm thinking of retiring it and installing it in my GF's laptop, and buying an M.2 SSD to replace it. This will then free up an HDD slot and I can add another 1TB HDD. 2. Cryorig C7 Currently just using a modded stock cooler (removed the shroud to make it fit). This is just to make everything pretty haha Should I get the Cu version? 3. RAM RAM RAM How is RAM still expensive? Anyways, I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to overclock my TridentZ's to 3200MHz. Simply enabling XMP makes windows crash (sometimes at boot, sometimes after a few minutes of use). I can't even get it up to 2666MHz. Not sure if it's just really bad luck with the RAM kit and the motherboard and the APU I have. Anyhoo my current idea is to sell it for about 80% of the SRP and buy a FlareX kit. Oooooor just wait for the RAM prices to drop, if they ever will. Thoughts? Suggestions? Violent Reactions?
  21. Hi! So I wanna gift my girlfriend a wireless headset as she seems to be very jealous of mine (Arctis 7) whenever we Skype haha She works as an online teacher so I feel like it'd be a great gift for her. Budget is around 50-100$ So far my only option is the Corsair HS70 but I'm trying to see if there's anything cheaper than that (like, waayyyy cheaper). She's not a gamer so she really only needs something that works wirelessly (w/ a mic of course). Stereo and non-Bluetooth is a must.
  22. Hey. So me and my girlfriend have been videochatting nightly. Normally I'd be using my Android Phone and she'd be on her laptop using her webcam. Anyways, What's the best cross-platform video chat app we should use? We've been using Messenger but I'm kinda disappointed with their desktop integration. So far my options are Skype, Google Hangouts, Discord. Priority is on video quality so one that can keep good VQ even on low bandwidth would be nice. Thanks! P.S. I wonder if there's an app where video chatting is sort of "room-based" where one can easily just turn on video from my part and contact can easily go in and out of the video chat room any time they like? Basically bypassing the dial/ring/answer portion of video calls.
  23. it's flat 40$ where I'm from ahaha however I consider the stinger as a last, LAST, resort. she won't like the gamer aesthetic and methinks the Audio 628 has a better mic.
  24. hi! my SO is looking for a headset to replace her broken Plantronics 628. her work involves a ton of VoIP. she currently has some cheap Logitech she bought at the mall to get her by but some of her clients have been complaining about her mic picking up too much noise. Budget is around 40$ tops. Anything better than the Plantronics 628. Help?
