  1. so i installed rEFInd on my mac book pro in attempt to boot to my linux live usb... but it says "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" but my keys aren't working and the power button wont turn it off! I'm lost for anything to do. I tried plugging in my Desktop keyboard but it didn't do anything and I don't know what to do T-T
  2. Went and installed AMD overdrive and it's giving me roughly the same readings as HWmonitor so I'm guessing that msi after burner and core temp are indeed just not playing well with it. but now that I see overdrive giving me the about 65-66 degrees celsius average I'm not as worried as before. EDIT: Thank you guys for your answers and helpful pointers. Really is cool that within 2 minutes of posting I already had some very helpful info. Again thank you guys ^-^
  3. So I have just installed a CoolerMaster hyper 212 EVO onto my AMD A10-5800k. Before I was using just the stock heatsink and was getting around a constant 70-85 degrees Celsius. After installing the Hyper 212 EVO, msi afterburner and coretemp 1.3 both show that the cpu is at 0-25 degrees Celsius, while HWMonitor shows it at a cozy 47-72 degrees Celsius. Anyone have an idea of whats going on? Maybe I Installed the Hyper 212 EVO wrong, but then again I feel like the computer wouldn't be on if that were the case. Could it be that msi afterburner and Coretemp are just reading inaccurately? I attached a screenshot of all of the readings. I'm just super confused as to what is going on right now T-T. Anyway thank you in advance ^-^.
  4. OH I didn't know they had that thank you very much
  5. Hey just a simple question of whether you can swap the corsair 750d AF editions front panel with the front panel of a normal 750d? I was thinking of getting an AF edition but on amazon the price is too high where as the normal 750d seems to be alot less (AF is $150 where the normal is like $95) thanks
  6. Hey @LinusTech are you aware the the video is only uploaded in 360p? you've probably already been told, but just making sure ^-^
  7. Hello, I have a logitech g600 MMO mouse that I got a few months ago, the warranty is still up and one of my mouse feet is bent in a corner that makes it cut into my desk. I went to the Logitech site to see if i could RMA or something and I found that they sell replacement feet for my specific mouse. I searched a bit on a way to do it but i couldn't find anything specific to it. Just wondering if anyone has any links or tips to replacing the feet on a logitech g600. thanks ^-^
  8. yea that does look a little better . the SSD would help as the first comment said thank you for helping me out man ^-^
  9. I haven't had good hardware for quite awhile. I have a 660 with an AMD A10-5800k. But I've been saving a long time for a balls to the wall build. With the new build I'm just curious as to if it would be able to run Star Citizen/Squadron 42 in 3440x1440 with an average FPS of 60 or higher. I know that it will be able to run a good amount of other games just fine but Star Citizen/Squadron 42 is the game I'm questioning at this point due to its pre-alpha state and use of a heavily modified cry engine. Balls to the wall build in question - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FwsC3C thanks in advance ^-^
  10. The test I did was on the wifi, when I tested on an Ethernet cable the speeds were fine. I just dont know what i should be configuring my wifi settings to.
  11. Hello I am coming to you guys today in a dire situation. I have just upgraded my modem router combo to a separate system with a modem and a router both separate. I got a Motorola surfboard sb6141 and a net gear nighthawk x6 r8000 upon contacting my isp and getting everything working I decided to do a speed test and to my surprise my speed dropped from 75mbps to 0.32mbps yes point three two. I have no idea why, anyway thanks in advance everyone
  12. Hey thanks every one for all the tips. coming here has helped more than anywhere else ^^. Ill probably end up going with the cheaper modem and the higher quality router like a nighthawk. I have been using cox since its the only reliable ISP in my area. again thanks everyone ^^ Honestly gotta give LinusTechTips forum a 10/10 for most helpful community
  13. Hello, So I recently took a trip to Bestbuy to get a signal booster for my Netgear-N600 modem/router. When talking to one of the people helpers i was told that it would be a better idea to just buy an AC router. Im not too sure what the difference is and why it would make a difference in general. Since i currently have a modem/router combo i am now looking for an AC modem/router combo that is under $200. Ive heard that the Netgear nighthawk is good but im not sure if it is a modem/router combo. Im not sure if an AC modem/router combo exists since im not experienced in networking stuff. Any recommendations, tips, and ideas are all welcomed and thanked for in advance. thanks
