  1. Maybe you should add a point to the part when pc turns on but the screen is black about checking the screws? I'm a newbie, and didn't know it's that important - fans on, USB on, etc. Yet still no vision. Tightening the screws holding the motherboard to the case fixed it. You might want to add it so it might help some other newbies as it helped me. Best regards , Mark PS. Sorry for any grammar errors, english is not my native language.
  2. Oh my God, I've spent whole evening assembling it and worrying why is it not working, and it was just the one screw that was too loose... I'm super glad it's working sorry for bothering you guys, and thanks a lot for your effort! Appreciate it!
  3. Is there a possibility that it might have been the screws attaching the motherboard to the case? tightened them a a little bit more and it's working. I still can't believe it
  4. It's 520W. Tried using different slots for video output - the ones from the GPS and motherboard. I can only use hdmi right now. I'm not sure if it matters. Tried to run it with and without GPU, still the same result. Tried running it with just one stick of ram as well. No results.Edit: 3x yes. Unless there's some black magics that it comes with, everything is connected properly
  5. Hi guys, I'd really use your help right now. Today I assembled my first self built pc(I am a newbie in this, so it might be a stupid mistake in this case) . Still, it doesn't run properly. Ad rem: When I plugged power cord in etc. I plugged it into tv(monitor is still on its way) and pressed the power button fans started spinning, and getting a little warmed up, case leds turned on, as well as the ones on my keyboard. Still, TV was still acting like there was no signal. I have used the hdmi cable - cable as well as TV is working fine. Tested it with other devices. Triple checked the pins - I might add some photos if you guys need it. Perhaps I made it wrong, but I don't suppose so. I don't have a speaker on my motherboard, but I might get one tomorrow, so I right now I don't know if there were any beeps. It doesn't reboot by itself. It looks stable at doing nothing. I'd really use some help here with all the ideas you can come up with. Deadlines are pretty heavy on me right now. Pc specs: Motherboard : gigabyte F2A78M-D3H CPU : AMD athlon x4 860k GPU : Msi R9 270 RAM : corsair vengeance 2x4gb ddr3 PCU : Antec HGC-520 I've heard some theories that it might be unable to boot the pc first time with hdmi cable. I would really appreciate your help. I need to get this thing working asap.
  6. Am I going to need to buy a heatsink or something for CPU? Also, is there a possibility, to replace some parts for cheaper ones, as once I checked it for France, it highly exceeds 500€ budget (I end up around 578€).
  7. I think I will stick to your build with 1TB storage. Better safe than sorry. One more question - will I need to add network card to connect to Wi-Fi, or not? Been a while since I used a PC instead of laptop.
  8. I'm not planning to go multimonitor anytime soon. Those builds you guys posted - if I would want to upgrade this in the future, would it be worth the money, or should I simply build a new one with higher budget then?
  9. I bought it ~3 months ago, and not having any problems with it. The model is Seagate SRD00F2
  10. I mentioned it, so maybe I could use a smaller ssd inside the pc, and all thing that I don't need fast access to I can keep on the external drive, and cash saved on the storage put elsewhere. Anyway, you guys are the experts hereAlso if possible, I'd avoid going over the budget.
  11. Edited the main post. Forgot to mention the 3TB external hdd.
  12. Hi Guys, As my laptop died of age yesterday, I have decided to switch to a PC. Timing is quite unfortunate, so I have only 500€, to spend on it. Thus, I would really use your help. When it comes to selecting parts, I'm not as good as I wish I was.. Budget and location: Currently I'm living in France. My budget is 500€. Aim: The purpose of the PC is gaming(e. g. Skyrim, Warhammer 40k DoW2, Final Fantasy XIV) , and I recently got into programming in Python(not sure if it matters), so I'm going to use it for these two things. Monitors : I can find a substitute, like connecting it to TV, so as long as money invested in the hardware, instead of the screen is worth the effort, then I would stick to hardware. I'd like to use 2 monitors in the future. Peripherals: I need a network card for it, to connect to Wi-Fi. I already have OS, keyboard, and mouse. I'm using 3TB external hdd, so I don't need a huge storage (as far as I know). Also, if possible and worth it with specs I can get with this budget, I'd look forward to expanding it in the future. I would really appreciate your help. Best regards, Mark Edit: I hope it looks clearer now.
