  1. Update: The long term copper and gallium test is finished and so far we only see minor structural degradation to the copper which means we will be able to use copper pipe for the radiator but for now we are putting this build on hold until term ends. After that we will have more time to work on it but right now we are mostly focused on studying for finals. sorry for the delay.
  2. so just an update we have had a discussion and looks like for now were going with a small cpu only loop to keep gallium cost down. Eventually we will add a gpu to the loop but for now just a cpu loop. Also on a side note we are building a website so look forward to that soon. thanks
  3. we will eventually be moving to an electromagnetic pump but this is still in the testing phases corrosion is a big issue that's why we are talking with a company to put a thin layer of a silicone like material that will protect the waterblocks from corroding while still maintaining a high heat transfer. yes that's why the hardware isn't amazing. noted thanks . We may move to a cheap Intel chip but were still not sure yet. yes we have a whole sale supplier we calculated the fluid would cost around $3000 when its done but the prices can change. as previously stated we will be coating everything is a silicone like material that transfers heat very well. one of the challenges we are trying to overcome is the radiator as the channels are to small for the material but we have some ideas .
  4. we will be using a mixture of gallium indium and tin its liquid at room temperature
  5. Project Gallium Hi I am the photographer and now i guess the pr guy too of a very small modding team named elemental computers. Another member of the team you guys might know is @Maybach123 he is pretty active on this forum. Anyways this is our first public build log and since this is our first we wanted to do something that we have not seen anyone else do before. We are going to be cooling a pc with liquid metal in a full custom loop. Even though this is our first build log it is still a company pet project and may take a while as we are working with somewhat restricted funds right now. None of the parts a set in stone we will most likely be changing them but once we have this system up and running we plan to see how long a gallium cooled pc will last and if it is a feasible long term solution. Parts as of right now. CPU: AMD FX 8320 Motherboard: Asus m5A78L-M RAM: Corsair vengeance 8 to 16gb whatever we have lying around Storage: Samsung 850 120gb SSD GPU: Nvidia 970 Case: Parvum M1.0 PSU: Evga SuperNOVA GS 550w Water Cooling Parts Ek Supremacy evo plexi Ek 970 plexi electromagnetic pump (magnetohydrodynamic pump) Will Update the rest of the parts later Thanks for checking this build log out
