  1. Hi! I'm currently looking for a short throw projector for my room to watch movies on. I unfortunatelly can't put anything on the ceiling, so I was looking at the LG PH450UG or LG PF1000U. Would you recommend one over the other? I'd be happy to miss some features for a lower price. Or should I be looking at completely something else? Thank you very much!
  2. Right now it's quite small with 132mb at 1,2 mil records. But I'll be adding around a million records a day so I expect it to grow quite large quite fast. Thanks for the suggestion! EDIT: Just found locally someone selling a server, what do you think of these specs? Model: R710 3.5" 6 Bay CPU: X5650 x 2, 2.66GHz, Six core CPU Memory: 48GB of RAM - PC3 10600R Power: 2 x Redundant 870W PSU
  3. Hello! I have been working on a project recently involving storing large amounts of data into a MySQL database. Usually, I run my projects on an old computer, but it seems to not be able to handle the database and the code at the same time anymore so I've been thinking about investing in a server focused only on the database side of things. As I am a student, I need to keep to cost down as much as possible, what would be your recommendation? I've looked at several refurbished servers, but I have no idea what to be looking out for. I'm from the UK, so I'm looking at the UK and EU stores. What parts should I focus on? Which brands are preferred as well as which CPU and how much ram would you recommend? Thank you for your help!
  4. Seems reasonable. Would you recommend a particular monitor or a brand? Thank you!
  5. Currently, I have 2 problems, I can't mount the current displays the way I want as they don't have vesa mounts. The second problem is, that since they are two different displays, they look different and it just bugs me. So I thought I might just sell these and do it properly.
  6. Hi! I am planning to re-think and upgrade my monitor setup. Currently, I am using Asus vx239 and Asus vn247 next to each other. Since space on my desk is limited and I have two big speakers on each side of one of the monitors, I was thinking about getting a vertical mount and have them above each other. I use my PC mainly for music production so gaming performance is not really important (more of a casual gamer...). I am running a GTX 1060 and am thinking of upgrading to something like 2x LG 25UM58. What are your opinions on such setup? Or would you rather recommend something else? As a student, I need to keep the costs down, unfortunately. Thank you!
  7. Thanks for the suggestions! Do you have any particular PSU recommendation? I am quite lost when it comes to them tbh.
  8. Hi, so I am in need of an upgrade for my studio PC. I came up with this, what do you guys think of it? I am not that experienced so any help or optimizations are appreciated. The main purpose will be audio recording/editing etc. All I need is a lot of CPU power to handle that load. I did not include storage or a gfx card as I will be using the same from my old PC. 9. Well, a new battery works only for 3 starts... that's the weird thing
  10. Hi! I started having issues with a computer that I've built a year ago. The issue is that the computer won't boot. It seems that the motherboard (Gigabyte Z170X-UD5 TH Mobo) drains the CMOS battery after aprox. 3 starts. I everything else seems to work properly... I have tested if everything is plugged in correctly and could not find any problems. What do you think is wrong? Is it something I can fix myself or do I need to contact Gigabyte? PS: The computer is not used very often. Could that be a factor?
  11. Hmm... I think I will just wait then and see which one of the two turns out better. Thanks for the replies
  12. Hi, So I ordered OnePlus 3t a few days ago and it hasn't arrived yet. However, I've just read the news about the release of OnePlus 5... I am really torn now between keeping the 3t or going through the hassle of returning it and getting the 5 once it comes out. What would you do? Do you think it's worth waiting?
  13. I am currently using the MSI H81I. I do intend to upgrade in the future as I will require more expansion space... (yeah I built this machine for completely different tasks than I am using it for now...). I am not too concerned about gaming, I mainly do music production and the i3 is not cutting it anymore, hence the need for an upgrade. If I plan in the future to upgrade the motherboard too, would you still go with the 4790k? Or should I wait and simply replace everything at once? Thanks!
